Hi, You!
Well! That sorta sums it all up! I learned how to drive in the snows of the Rocky Mountains, and laughed my backside off when I moved to San Diego. LA is worse. SF is laughable. And from SF to Tahoe is beyond belief.
Those of us who braved the Rockies in all kinds of weather when we were learning to drive find "mist" laughable, and snow packed roads are to be respected.
(However...I almost lost my life on a misty night in January in the middle of Utah. I was NOT driving and the highway was dry.)
Well, there's further evidence: if ya want it done right, do it yourself.
Me? I'm a confessed control freak; I almost can't go anywhere by car if I'm not the one driving. I can't snooze; I watch the road like a hawk; I have to bite my tongue or I start Kibbitzing -- it just isn't pretty.
So, I'm heading out through the twisties on the way to Stinson Beach on the California coast in Marin county. I'm dirving an extended-length Aerostar with six passengers and catching up to BMW's, Accura's and Audi A4's... It was probably because we were in Marin County. but any one of those cars should have flat-out smoked my bacon, with no questions asked.
'Tain't fer, I tell ya!! I wanna trade!
