Actually wrapping abcesses in raw bacon is a folk remedy that may have some merit.

Warm saline soaks is standard medical proceedure when wanting a wound to drain.

Bacon is salty. Besides it will induce the dogs to lick.

I've also seen potato peels used, peel side out, to help cure an abcess on a dog.

If I used bacon bandages on me somewhere, my cats would chew me out.
