Ideas Needed For Political Project

Hi everyone. I have a pretty important research paper to write. It's going to be on something political...I need some advice though..my potential topic is:

1.) Iraq is better off now than it was before the liberation.

I need to fill up 6-7 pages on this if I were to choose to do it. I need to prove 3 points. What 3 points could I prove? I was thinking about the first point being about the Hussein regime and what life was like under Saddam Hussein...but I'm not sure what other points I could prove..and do you guys think I could find enough information to prove my point? Thanks for your help..it is much appreciated!

(Any other iraqi war, or political papers topics you can think of that would be good to write about)

I just need to know if there would be enough information on whether or not the iraq war made Iraq better off than before...I need to fill up 6-7 pages.

I really just need some topic ideas. Good political topics for a research paper where there's an abundance of good quality reliable/credible research to use.

If you guys can think of anything, please let me know. I'd deeply appreciate it.

Just use your own head and think for yourself. Write your research paper based on your own research. Surely, you must have some original thoughts, ideas and/or opinions to build on through further research, no? If not, why?

I can certainly think for myself. I am fully capable of doing research myself too. I'm simply asking for opinions here. Do you think I'd be able to find enough information to fill up 7 pages for the topic stated:

I'm doing research and have found a lot of information on saddam husseins regime. I'm wondering what other 2 points I could prove in my research paper if I were to do that topic. What should I talk about?

I'm simply asking for ideas. I'm in no way asking people to do my research.

There are a few links to information about life in Iraq under Saddam on my "faq" page. The are some other reading links below that might be of interest to you also. I did not find as much information about pre-war life in Iraq as I wanted, but you might be able to find more info and I think it is a good topic.

If you need six or seven pages to "fill up," what font size are you using and what is the spacing, single, double?

Electrical, wages, water, and education are better now. I would think that the DOD website would be a great source of info. Iraq the model might give you some good info, too.

thanks for the help thus far guys. Much appreciated. It's size 12 font (Times New Roman) and double spaced. I need to fill up 6 pages. I also need to do a project that would take 20 hours to complete. The problem is..I'm not sure what project I would do. I was thinking about interviewing Iraq war veterans..but I know that won't take 20 hours...but that's another issue..so,

Point 2: Iraq's Future..err..Iraq actually has a future

For a project, why don't you tie in your interviewing idea with twenty hours of volunteer work at your local Veteran's hospital?

That way, everybody wins.

And perhaps point three could be the totalitarian regime before, and the emerging democracy now. My gosh, they have had two successful democratic votes. They have women serving in government. The people risked death just for the opportunity to vote. It's a heck of a story.

6-7 pages is nothing if you're going to be writing about politics. Hell, last time I wrote a paper on politics it was about the 2nd Amendment and I had a difficult time keeping it down to just 10 pages. I don't have any ideas for you on your proposed topic, but if I were you I'd write about something in the Constitution rather than current war debates, but that's just me. Or the pro-life movement.

Then again, the Iraq thing is a great idea if you can find good info. That's my only problem with it, I have no idea where to start on that paper, whereas if I'm talking about the 2nd Amendment or abortion, I can write 10 pages just from info off the top of my head. Speaking of which, I have to get moving on a 5 page paper due tomorrow about a short story in English class. Not as exciting, though. Good luck with the assignment!
