I got a nasty phone call from a client today. Apparently an email I sent to a couple of the attorneys involved in one of my cases, as a courtesy update since they are in Little Rock, was given to the client, stuff that was not intended for distribution and that contained a confidentiality disclaimer. I foolishly assumed that a professional would have sense enough to know that it was not meant for the client. Very unprofessional in my opinion. Now I have to decide how to handle it.
*sigh* Idiot, or deliberate undermining?
terrific!!
We ALWAYS look at every piece of paper in our files before I make any copies to give to our client, upon their request for an entire copy of their files. (For instance, they're not allowed to have a copy of the pre-sentencing report...don't ask me why, since about themselves, but they can't have a copy.)
