Love this photo:
U.S. first lady Laura Bush takes a commemorative photo with children after reading books to them on her visit to the Busan Metropolitan Public Library in Pusan, South Korea, November 18, 2005. The children are from families of U.S. soldiers stationed at Camp Hialeah in Pusan and from Soyangwon, a welfare facility for children in the city, host of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum. I see the House Republicans are forcing a "showdown" tonight with Dems on the Murtha resolution to cut and run in Iraq. Glad to see that some pubbies in DC still have a backbone.

Like this suit on the First Lady and is that a Judith Leiber minaudiere she is carrying ?
U.S. President George W. Bush (2nd L) and first lady Laura Bush (L) gather for a picture with South Korean President Roh Moo-Hyun and his wife Kwon Yang-Sook upon their arrival at a gala dinner and cultural performance at the annual APEC leaders summit in Pusan, November 18, 2005.

Landrieu ? Why call her, she is a senator ? She has no sway when it comes to a House vote.

oh...maybe I typed the wrong name...let me check; btw, they ARE voting on something right now, but I'm not sure what.
It seems like they're voting on whether or not to vote (I kid you not).
To: Darlin'
nope....that was the correct name...I don't know why...as I do believe she's a senator...perhaps that call was to see if the Senate would be voting on this tonight, too?
To: nicmarlo
I think the House pubbies are playing hardball by forcing them to put on record where they stand before the Thanksgiving break. LOL. The dems are probably scrambling to save face by trying to withdraw Murtha's asinine resolution.
Too bad the pubbies in the Senate are such jellyfish. Of course, a couple of dozen of them are dreaming about running for President in 2008, too.

Are you watching C-spam?
BTW, I think you're right about their intent for this vote....and also about the jellyfish in the senate.
To: nicmarlo
Yes, as much as it galls me to say it, Landrieu is the senator from Louisiana. AND I'm real sure that she doesn't wsant to be a party to anything that might be controversial.... cause, she and her family may well have all the controversary they can handle if a legitimate investigation into the New Orleans leavee board is ever conducted.

RINOs: no: 6
QuasiPubbies and Pubbies: yea 211
Indpendent used to be RINO: no 1
totals yea: 211 no 203
To: Darlin'
Just ruled: resolution has been agreed to; motion is on the table.
To: nicmarlo
Yes, even though Tom Delay has temporarily stepped down as House Majority Leader, his gutsy influence is still felt.

lol!!!
I believe it's this:
"they will debate the RULES for the vote...then vote on that....then have an hour debate before the REAL vote.."
(per another FReeper's post on that thread...sorry, but I'm very confused) : )
To: Darlin'
Oh, dang it.... I've just been reminded that I'll be late if I don't get a move on.... Sheesh ! I'll try to check in tomorrow. See ya :)
