I'm just watching "The Siege" on A&E for the first time in a long time. (It was made in 1998). The images of a Bin Laden like figure being captured and clip of BJ Clinton saying "we will protect our own" makes me wonder what the producers knew the real threat or if they were capturing something they did not intend to.

The movie is on the History channel, not A&E!

I am watching the Erin Brockovich and the liberal self-rightousness

If I had watched this in 00 I might have gotten caught up in the emotional driven spin...

When I think of negotiator who work on a win win situation and this attitude of hate

I know of the terreible situtaion of contaminated water and all the tragedy in health...

I just can't see movies like this with out feel I am being brained washed!

I am glad the people won I just can't stand the liberal dribble!

And what a great idea for a Halloween costume.

I'm anxious to get mine too. I hate to spend that much money and not get any immediate benefit from it.

When we ordered the furniture, we were told that we'd have it by Christmas! It's not stuff that they have in stock, unfortunately. But it is gorgeous, and I've been saving for it for years, literally. A nice thing about leather is that the cats won't claw it. We have a leather recliner, and the little furballs leave it alone, whereas my old fabric loveseat had been semi-shredded in many places. The old loveseat is already gone, I just couldn't stand it anymore. Hubby got the sawz-all out, cut it up, and disposed of it in the regular trash pick up. They want entirely too much money to pick up items like that curbside.

It is hard to wait for something that you've spent so much money on.

Oops. I posted to myself when I meant to post to you. Hehehe. Caffeine deficiency, I suppose. Drop back in when you get a minute. I hope you're having a fine weekend.

I've never spent this much on a piece of furniture, and I'm still concerned whether they will be able to get it though the front door. There was some problems with what I have, and it isn't as big. How bad would that suck to have to move to accommodate the furniture?

I guess I can see your point about the leather furniture and cat hair and clawing. That is something that concerns me a little about this furniture. Although I don't have any cats right now, I can't imagine going too long without one, so it will eventually come up. I think you can buy corner protectors now for furniture that prevents cats clawing it.

For me, I just don't like leather. It seems cold to me. I like things more warm and cuddly, and softness is a very big thing to me. I just love things that are very soft to the touch. One of my peeves is buying an article of clothing that is really soft, and the first time you wash it, it loses that.

I guess the important thing is that people have what they like. I can appreciate the beauty of a great many things, but wouldn't want them because they're just not me. A good example would be a a glass china cabinet. Many of them are very beautiful, but I don't like having too much around that I have to worry about getting broken. I would be more likely to choose an Early American style buffet with hutch in all Maple or other light wood. I have pretty eclectic, but mostly very simple, tastes. If I had to say what my style was, I'd have to say it would be a blend of country charm and comfort, Victorian frills (I adore ruffles and lace and roses and ornate embellishments), a touch of southwestern seasoning and just plain old everyday practicality and durability.

You can buy corner protectors. You can also put double-sided tape in places that won't accomodate the corner protectors, like the top back of the sofa, where cats like to sit. They don't like the sticky part of the tape, so won't claw.

Yes, leather does feel cold when you first sit in it, but it warms up. I also have a couple of fleece throws that I use in cool weather, and they are warm and cuddly, and also highly washable.

I don't have a china cabinet either, don't want one. I have a hutch for the china my mother bought me for our wedding. I don't even have crystal stemware! Don't really want it - have to be so careful with it. I bought a set of decent looking glasses and wine glasses at macy's. When they break, I replace them.

I have seen this for several weeks as I passed in the car. This time, I turned around and backed into the driveway to take a shot.

Maybe they are not fall colors but year round.

Mornin' Nully. Well, I guess it's nearly afternoon. I slept LATE today. Still drinking coffee. I should be doing something useful.

I have several down throws. The last one I bought a couple of weeks back when I was in Hot Springs. It is a very soft velour type fabric one side, and the other side is a soft, brushed cotton type fabric. I don't know exactly what it is, but it sure feels good against my skin. I'd love to have a long robe out of the same fabric blends. They had these in full size for the bed, too. Wish I'd gotten one of those.

Me too. More weird dreams.

I was in jail. I was also Dubya's son. And he was arrested and put in a very crowded cell opposite mine. I caught his eye, held my thumb to my ear with my pinky in front om my mouth, and said loudly

"Hello, Dad? I'M IN JAIL!" Cracked everybody up and broke the ice.
