This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Hey guys! I'm alive and suchlike and found my account. :) Just droping a note to let ya'll know that I'm home in the states with a great job and well on my way to being licensed in Texas. Beren is doing great, I have a new dog (Conrad) and cat (Gwyn), and I found an awesome new trainer who lives right down the street.
Would you believe she's a Grand Prix dressage trainer (with a Lippizaner!)? And offered me free lessons? I'm in heaven. :) Beren and I are going back to basics, and I'm having to relearn some of my aids. I'm just so happy to be doing things *right* and to have someone so knowledgable to explain the books. When I figure out how to post pics I'll put some up of the gang.
If you could sell the little critter fast, that's not a bad investment:')
Texas? Alright. Welcome back, Doc.
Hey - Welcome back! To the thread, and to states. We've missed our thread veterinarian!
Cool deal about the trainer, we'd love pics of the horses, and this trainer and her horse.
Welcome back :)
Weanlings are a buyer's market.

Incoming fish:')
Sorry to hear Tommy is sick. I hope he gets better soon. Get some finger paint and occupy him with making hand horses.
LOL!
For 5000, I would have that horse on Viagra.
Ain't that the truth. Did you chech the place I emailed you about?
Uh huh. They are beautiful, aren't they?
Are you going to get the camper tomorrow?
Slave to the job. I know that term to well. Let me know when you want to go back. We actually need to come there next time.
If that is ok. J. wants time to get ready next week.
That's fine. Eddie was laughing at my directions and said he was going to send you a map with road numbers:')When you are rested why don't yall come down here and I'll get you a loaner horse. I would like to go back in Dec. if it isn't too cold. That will give me some time to work on that stuff. She will probably throw a fit but do you think we should leave Momma home?
She had a blast. I say take her. I checked her fish today. All are healthy. I told her one was looking kinda pregnant. She didn't care for that much.
night
Sarah Lee and I had a little talk today. I don't think it's exactly what you had in mind though. I believe she's going into heat and I was leading her back to her pasture. A gelding came up sniffing. She just stood there. He was insistent and I had to run him off (3 times). I asked her where her pride was and told her she needed to not be so easy and have a little pride and that she could do better than a skinny horse with poor conformation and missing body parts. I described the fancy stud I found on the Internet. She just kind of looked at me and then longingly at that old , lanky bag of bones.
