The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I have no doubt there was a mouse there. There were plenty in the barn, I imagine they are looking for cover anywhere they can find it.

Now how did Gidget lock you out??? I think she's just takiing the blame:).

Gidget did it! Honest!

I was standing on the porch, the door was locked, but it wasn't pulled shut, it was sitting ajar.

Next door a guy was working on a car and it kept backfiring.... sounded like gunfire.

Gidget was inside going nuts, wanting out, wanting to get the bad guy. She lunged against the door and pushed it shut!

She's just lucky I was dressed well enough to walk to the store (had to climb over the gate 'cuz it's locked all the time) and make a phone call :~D

I'm in warming up. I'm handing things up to Mack so I'm doing alot of standing still and it gets cold.

I'm in putting off going out to clean stalls... I got half done waiting for ecurbh to come with the key... but still have another stall to clean.

LOL, there is no way I could climb a fence, I'd just have to fall over it:)

Ok, and I can see how Gidget could have locked you out:). Sounds like what I worry about Susie doing in our truck. I was always afraid she would step on the lock button, so I made sure I always had the keys in my hand.

I've hauled water, cleaned out the dogs water of all the leaves, pulled some nails out of boards, anything to keep moving around. But now everything I can do is done, so it's alot of standing around. I get sooooo stiff in the cold.

Well, better head back out there, I don't want to be a slackard:)

Actually, that also happened to me once... Zulu got all excited and stepped on the lock... with it running. :~D

Nice work on the barn! Even though the barn's not done, the horses should be fine in the upcoming snow. Mine will stand out in it even though they have a perfectly good barn to get in.

That's some more hole that dog has going under that tin.

...I got locked out of the house this morning by Gidget....She's just lucky I was dressed well enough to walk to the store...

LOL!!! You're lucky you weren't standing out there in your pajamas and house shoes. It wouldn't've been fun climbing the fence and walking to the store like that in all that mud and snow. I've locked myself out so many times that I had a spare key made and I keep it hidden in the shed, and it has a combination lock so I can always get in there. Next time you go out on the porch, unlock the door first! ;o)

Yeah, that's the thing about spare keys, you've gotta remember to put 'em back out when you use 'em, and remembering ain't my strong suit. There's nothing more aggrivating than going to get the spare key and it's not there.

On another subject, have you seen a video clip titled "WizardsOfWinter"? I got it in an e-mail and it's the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. Somebody synchronized the Christmas lights on their house up to music. I was amazed. I'll send it to you if you haven't already seen it. It's about 5MB.

I have seen it, and it's great... There was a thread posted here about it last week sometime...

OK - I'm headed out to finish cleanin' stalls...

Don't let me post any more till it's done :~D

I found a link to it on Google. It's a little darker than the one I have, but I'll post the link anyways, for those who want to download it. It's pretty big but it sure is cool...

I have seen the Wizards of Winter clip. It's amazing, and I must have watched it about six times already. (It's partly because I'm a big TSO fan)

I called this Cats are People Two shelter today. A man just came out and picked up "Peggy". We called her that because of the broken leg. That is what I want to do when I retire, is work at an animal shelter. She is a very nice kitty, so I am sure they will find her a good home.

Beautiful tree! I just love white lights on a tree. Ours is up. Too early for my liking, but what can I say. I never would do any decorating until after my daughter's birthday (Dec. 14). Didn't want to take out any of the joy. I guess it does not bother her now that she is older.
