This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Cool. Well SL tolerates that end:') When she goes in heat one bag gets a little swollen. I thought the first time it might be a growth but it goes away. Just an easy sign I watch for now.
No horse stuff here for 2 wks. I think I'm about done here in the house tho, and Mack is working tomorrow so I believe I'll go on a short ride. The weather is warm and windy, we had a bit of rain this morning but not enought to count.

Yeah, I think that's why I wasn't in the mood. (work to do) The yard is all nice and mowed now. Maybe tomorrow.
Well I have something horsey to report. Went on an impromptu trail ride today, and it went well. Did come trotting cantering and jumping. It was nice. But I got scratched in the eye with a tree branch, and boy does it hurt! To top it all off, I almost got swiped off my horse at the same time. We also had to get off the horses at one point and lead them downhill because the path was so overgrown. We also ran into a deer. The horses weren't too thrilled.
You ok? I did something like that with Sarah Lee last week. We went under some trees. She fit. I didn't. I had to lay on her neck and push stuff away.
Oh I'm fine. I just didn't want to lay on his neck while going down a really steep hill. It would have ended up in an accident.
Hill? What's that lol. I'm glad you are ok. Did you enjoy the rest of the ride? I took Eddie down a trail in the truck that I rode last year. I thought we might go out tomorrow. I was really disappointed. It was bare where before there were corn fields as far as you could see. There wasn't any water in the canal either.
I told her to call you. She gave up on the fish last week.

We just finished Season 2... I'd be game to go right on to Season 3 but ecurbh is '24'd' out, he says... can't take another 24 hours of adrenaline :~D
I guess I'll see you Sat at the baby shower. I really wanted to go on this trail ride but........

We watched the first 2 seasons on DVD's and If we watched more then 2 episodes a night I was wore out. But I liked watching them on DVD's better then 1 episode a week. Being able to watch every night seemed to keep the suspense at a higher level, but watching more then 2 each night was to high:)

We kinda binged on them to finish up season 2 yesterday... so he'd had enough for awhile :~D
He has just proposed that we should go have Sunday brunch at the casino. That sounds like a remarkable proposal :~D
