This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and MissTargets will now be pinging everyone most mornings. Let MissTargets and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

HA! I was thinking the same thing, but I don't think it's the same person. :-) This fellow was in Okaya, and then moved elsewhere, I'm not sure where.
Mine is the one that got married last Oct. Remember the pictures I posted? He's going to San Diego. At first he was going to some place in Washington but they changed his orders.
I don't remember the pictures, I'm sorry. :-/ Why was he posted over there? How long has he been there?
His name is Brett. He re-upped so I guess he's been there about 4 years.
Horses got trimmed last night and Jody's shoes were pulled. Suppose to get near 70 today.....yeah.
Good Morning, yes he is. If it's anything like last year, horses will be going cheap. My daughter wants to go, but I would like to get some firewood put in. Depends on weather, it's suppose to rain.
Wow that's a long time! You must be glad that he's coming home!
Well, he comes home every year but a year still a long time. Looks like we will all be together for Christmas this year. My last day at my job is the 29th. If I can afford it, I may extend a couple of weeks and not go back to work until Jan.

I asked Mack about selling by owner. I had two different things mixed up, but the commercial building was a sold by owner, and you just have to go to the bank and they will take care of all the paperwork. He said it might be differnt for residential property but he thinks the bank would still do it all, especially with just raw land.

That's great that you'll be together for Christmas. I'd say if you can, take a little break. It sounds like your job has really run you around. You need it. :-)

We get our new kittens this morning!

Oh - well, now they aren't coming till tonight.... around 6. But there will be pictures.
I adore kitties. :-) Especially little ones. Do you know what colors they are?
I don't know anything about them! I don't even really know what age they are, or what sex they are, or anything!
I just went out and pulled our big dog crate in from the back yard junk hiding place, and hosed it off and cleaned it up to bring in. It occured to me that I might want a small kitty sanctuary ready in case the introduction of these two kittens to the cat and the two dogs is more chaos than we want all at once.
But it is ~pouring~ out, and I'm out in the yard with a brush and a hose tryin' to get the dirt and cobwebs out of this old dog crate, which doesn't really look that much better now. I'm soaked :~D
We are having beautiful weather here today. It's actually almost hot. The trees are almost all just drab brown already:). I didn't figure the colors would last long.
A crate might be good for awhile till everyone adjusts to everyone else. Do you still have your big cat? Kittens are so cute. I can't wait to see pictures:)

Heh. You mean shred? :-) If he started shedding kittens, you'd all be in trouble! Do you have a separate room that you could keep them in for a day or so, till they get acclimated?
