Darned if I know. The ancient Egyptians had no problem with it as they endowed us with 7 different entities – one of which was the soul that went to heaven or hell among them.
I am reminded of the line from “Hamlet” – “There is more to heaven and Earth, Horatio, than have been dreamt of in your philosophies"
