Any freepers have some really good ideas/links/sources for sustainable living? Self sufficient living, mountain living,etc.etc. My interests are in living off an organic garden and perhaps a dairy goat to fulfill the occasional craving for raw cheeses. I'm also interested in solar heating and hydroponic growing for the winter time.
Thanks.
getting off the grid is expensive and time-consuming, but rewarding. consider a pellet or corn stove or an outside-premise wood furnace ,too.

I've always been interested in this topic. Unfortunately, most web sites I've been able to find on this have been left-leaning. As if conservatives aren't interested in these kinds of things!
I have a day off tomorrow so I'm going to spend it getting my big notebook together. It's so much to learn!
Hi, only just got on here, but this is what my husband and I are plannnig to do as soon as we can. We are checking out property right now, and plan to do bee-keeping, hormone free beef, poultry, produce etc. The best book we can reccomend for someone serious in doing this is 'family frirndly farming, and salad bar beef' both by Joel Salatin who is living this dream and supporting his family quite nicely.
