Little known piece of trivia:
The world has been mispronouncing 'nostradamus' for over 100 years.
During his lifetime, he was known as "nostradumbass", which is Italian for "our dumb ass".
While he was alive, he was always making predictions that never came true. But after something major had happened, he'd go back and reinterpret his predictions and say that he really had predicted it.
When he went around saying how he had predicted events (but never really did), the people in town would just say "That's Nostradumbass!", which translates to "That's Our Dumb ass!"
And that is where the english speaking world got the phrase 'dumb ass'.
