Mary Landrieu ~ Partisan

1. The American Red Cross and Salvation Army, who are FEMA partners and first responders, were prevented from delivering emergency supplies to the Super Dome by Governor Blanco. Governor Blanco also refused to federalize the National Guard.

2. Brother, Mitch, is lieutenant governor of Louisiana. Her father, 'Moon' was New Orleans' mayor from 1970 through 1978. He was also Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) during President Jimmy Carter's administration.

3. The City of New Orleans was given millions of dollars by the Federal Government to develop and practice emergency drills, but when the time came to put what was practiced into operation the Mayor failed to act and hundreds of buses were not used and 100,000 people were stranded in New Orleans. Yet Mary Landrieu gives both her dad's former city and her brother's state a pass on this failure to act.

Likewise, Landrieu has even come out and defended the looters. Apparently no one is to blame but Republicans. Certainly, the Landrieu family, consisting of a senator, a lieutenant-governor and a two-term New Orleans mayor, is completely free of blame.

Nine months before Katrina, three top Louisiana Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness officials were indicted by a federal grand jury in Shreveport and charged, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of Louisiana, "with offenses related to the obstruction of an audit of the use of federal funds for flood mitigation opportunities throughout Louisiana."

Mary Landrieu ~ everyone's at fault except me and my family

Mary Landrieu is a complete fool. It is not the federal governments role to evacuate people.

However, New Orleans has a well-oiled machine that knows how to get transportation for those same people to take them to the polls on election day.

Despite Landrieu's complaints of budget cuts and paltry funding, the fact is that over the five years of the Bush administration, Louisiana has received more money — $1.9 billion — for Army Corps of Engineers civil works projects than any other state, and more than under any other administration over a similar period.

California is a distant second with less than $1.4 billion despite a population more than seven times as large.

Ok, so last night President Bush announces billions and billions of $$$ going to New Orleans, and today, Landrou, during a press conference with the other 13 liberal senators touring N.O. says that pointing fingers is not what is useful.

My, how their stories change when the big bucks are coming around.

What can we say, LA is what is, is what is. I hope, but find it doubtful the full truth of this entire sorry affair will ever make it before the American public.

2008. The GOP had a shot in 2002, but the dummycrats mobilized in the runoff in December 2002 after no candidate got more than 50% of the vote in November of 2002.
