I don't see how any list of running backs could ignore the man who holds the record for yards rushed.

Why is there no listing for offensive linemen?

I would put Sweetness number 1 for durability, and considering the fact for most of his career he didn't have decent offensive lines to work with. Scary to think what he could have done with a decent OL.

QB - 1 Montana, 2 Elway, 3 Unitas
Marino was overrated. He would complete tons of passes, but it never seemed to have much of a practical effect on the team's success. I think he stunted the running game, like Dan Fouts.
Defensive line...Howie Long? Please....

I would put Emmitt #2, but again I would have liked to have seen what Payton would have done with those great Dallas OL's in the 90s.

Emmitt Smith and Erik Dickerson have to be on that list. O.J. wasn't half bad either.

Asolutely agree.

Montana is clearly the superior qb.

Butkus, Sayers, Payton, Stauback, and Terry Bradshaw... And let's just nominate the 1985-6 Chicago Bears the best team of all time (yeah, even better than the Miami Dolphins or Green Bay Packers glory teams). McMahon and da Bears were da best! JMHO.

I'm not saying this because I'm a homer, but Bill Bates, a Cowboys free agent, was a consistently top performer in tackles on special teams.

That is because he ate steroids like candy, in addition to his crazy workouts.

O.J. certainly could carve up a defense.

Randy Moss is still a kid.

He doesn't even belong on a list of the top three.

He should be replaced by Fred Belitnikoff. Fred Biletnikoff was named most valuable player of Super Bowl XI. He's in the Hall of Fame for crying out loud.

Never heard that, but I wonder if that's what contributed to his liver problems.

QB: Sammy Baugh needs to be on that list if you're talking about football players, not just players you've been able to watch since the 60s.
