To: Jersey Republican Biker Chick
We lost power for 13 hours but mostly got wind gustinng up to 65 for 12 hours. Main system was to the west of us. My daughter and son in law live in Mobile and they stayed at the Power plant where he is an engineer. The didn't sustain any damage. Got power back today. But gasoline is in very short supply, 4 to 5 hour waits. Luckily they have high mpg vehicles and don't have to drive far to work.
All and all we need to count our blessings. Compared to Mississippi and LA we were not even inconvenienced.

We were never in real danger. I had to work damage repair in Mobile after Frederick back in the late 70's. I was a telephone repair tech for South Central Bell and spent 4 weeks, daylight till dark, 7 days on 1 day off. I made a fortune in OT but was ready to come home after the first few days. I vowed to never live any closer to the gulf than I do now and I keep most of my vows.
