Gravity is generated by a large quantity of elves (called Gribbly Elves) who, using their cabbage fingers, clutch gently at anything made of rust, and pulls them gently towards them. The more mass, the more Gribblies, because Gribblies need to sit on something in order to grab something else.

You can't fool me. Those equations have nothing to do with gravity. Those are the equations that describe greenshift.

Greenshift is what you observe when the guy next door makes a lot more money than you do. As his standard of living recedes from yours at an ever-greater speed, the grass looks greener on the other side of the fence.
