Small article in today's paper about a pilot project where Coasties and RCMP sail on each other's boats on the Detroit River so they can bust people on either side of the border. If it works, it will be expanded to all other US-Canadian border waters.

hey... that's a cool idea.

Check out that new boat they're using. That's a little local company in Port Orchard, WA that makes those. They're just a few miles up the road from Gig Harbor. They were this tiny little boat builder, hit upon this great idea for an aluminum and foam-collar boat... and made the deal of the century with the CG and lots of police forces. They're really cool boats, and now they've ramped up to massive production. Home town guys struck it rich.
