ABC's Extreme Home Makeover tonight was about a family with a soldier (I didn't catch what branch) who lost a leg in Iraq. They not only rebuilt his house to be more accommodating for him (taking out levels, etc.), they paid to have him fitted with a new prosthetic leg (he walked without pain and without crutches), and arranged to have his wife's Master's in Social Work paid for. She plans to work with families in similar situations.
It was a tearjerker.
Sometimes, the mediots get it right.
Good for them! I'll refrain from saying the next nasty thing about TV I think of. That's clearly more than they had to do.
I saw the last 10 minutes of the show and blubbered like a baby.
It was well done and more than well deserved.
Good evening... sounds like a great show.
We're home from the beach house.... went up to celebrate Dad's birthday though he wasn't much up to it. He's got a lot of pain in his shoulder, not sure why, but it kept him from sleeping last night or having much fun today.
They probably had some psychologist on staff who has devised a formula for getting ratings out of red-staters.
My cynicism aside, I'm glad 1) they did that for the family and 2) put it on TV. *Nothing* is too good for our servicemen and women.
