I saw a note on the MA homeschooling message board today from a woman who has her two nieces from New Orleans. They had been in a shelter, and their parents didn't want them to have to stay there for the next two months. The poster wondered how to go about getting permission to homeschool them. The consensus was that she didn't necessarily have to get permission because she isn't their guardian; they are just visiting.

I can't really imagine anyone in those regions hit arguing with homeschooling.

I don't know. It is a temporary situation. The parent may need to get permission from LA for them to be homeschooled elsewhere, if it has not already been done. However, I do not think the aunt necessarily needs to get permission from her state.
