Only wordcount matters.

Hey, I could have my characters take a distance-learning class in software measurement and metrics, and include all my homework assignments, word for word!

That could work. So could descriptions of scenery in painstakingly dull detail.

I just got this in my email...I wish I could go, but my day will come.

Good afternoon!

There is a need for doctors to go to Pakistan next week.  We have been asked to send doctors leaving on Wednesday, October 19th returning around November 2nd.  We need at least 2 orthopedic physicians/surgeons, an anesthesiologist, and any other physicians or nurses that would be available to go and have a current passport.  You will not need to bring much medical equipment with you, just your stethoscope and blood pressure cuff.  You do need to be ready to rough it in the medical facility and in your housing arrangements.

The team will leave on Monday. Please contact me ASAP if you are interested and able to go.  We will get your VISA from the Pakistani consulate this week so we will need your passport by Sunday afternoon.

Please email me the following information:

1.  Name
2.  Church
3.  Home, work, and mobile phone numbers
4.  Passport Number
5.  City where you live
6.  Field of Practice

Thank you so very much!  I look forward to hearing from you very soon!

And flashbacks! lots of flashbacks!
Actually my whole story is a flashback from another story I have not started writing yet but have more plot for.

That would be pretty cool. Too bad they don't need anyone to write some emergency systems requirements...

Or emergency computer repair.

Maybe I should get a passport (I keep meaning too) and sign up for "Geek Disaster Relief Team". There must be such a thing?

do you think Bob the Dark Overlord would be more successful if only he had the opportunity to attend about three bazillion project management workshops?

Yes! And if he had the management style appropriate for his commitment and confidence level.

Got this email today from the wife of an Army captain, who requested 25 Camillus 904S folding knives:

-----------

I received your knives today. And ironically enough we had a meeting tonight. So I got to hand almost all of them out!! The guys were so surprised and so happy!! They said they were really cool, neat, awesome, light weight, and I'm not sure if that is enough adjectives to describe the excitement they had. And when they found out it was a donation from a group of people they just smiled from ear to ear and said "WOW"! They were so grateful!!

So I appreciate it so much. Probably even more so now than before. To see them so happy at times like these over something so simple. Words just cannot describe how wonderful it was!!

So, I wanted to let you know that we received them and that the guys were very very grateful for the extra effort you and all of your friends went through for them.

That is exactly what makes their spirits lift in times when they could use it the most.

OK, I'm done!! LOL Thank you so much for all of your efforts and believe me, I will never forget it!!! May God Bless all of you!!!!

Well, I'm glad we were able to make her happy.... I knew when we forwarded that request to you, that it would cost us a fortune. :~D

I just you a little bit, Rick.

Times like these make me really wish I was rich.

I always wish I were rich. I'd really like a couple nice outfits... more anime... more beef...

Ok, not rich, just more comfortable. Sigh. I am thinking of changing my hairstyle... love the length but the bulk is a little much, so I'm considering getting some of the front cut but I can't find any pictures of what I'm thinking about so I dunno if it'll look stupid.
