Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yah... where's Mister Cree? I heard today about some power outages in the Miami area. Maybe he's part of that.
My Miami office is still up and running. But that don't mean much.

I was just gonna walk the aisles at Fry's and hope that inspiration would strike.
maybe that's not a good plan.

It might be a good plan for you, but it doesn't help me :~D
I might try the same thing at Sears...
Unless there's a new truck accessory you can think of.

You know... what would be really good is a new small step ladder for him to carry behind the seat. The little rickety one that he uses to get in and out of the truck bed needs to be thrown in the bay. It is going to collapse and he just won't replace it. He's gonna take a bad fall off that damn thing.
It only needs two steps, and should be all aluminum and small enough to easily carry behind the seat. What think?

You know the one I'm talking about? Something like that only new and stronger. That one has that handle thing that sticks up, and that's a good feature to look for.

Yeah - I do know what you mean... and it's a very good idea! Does he carry that with him in the truck now? Or would this for at the house? Is there a good stepladder at the house?

I think BA CHEF is already getting my Marine speaker something...his wife is one of our members. It's part of benevolence and comes out of our dues.
I didn't mean to ask for knives...I only wanted to let Rick know that I didn't need the contact he mentioned a while back.
Everyone that made a Christmas card put their address on it. Maybe if they strike up a conversation with one of the Marines, they might be interested in the Hobbit Hole project and want to send a knife. I'll post the link in the egroup after I mail the cards.

To: HairOfTheDog
I think if he had a good one, he'd carry it behind the seat. It just needs to be small and lightweight. The one at the house is that crappy one.

OK - Thanks - I was just looking at it from a fundraising standpoint, if there was a plan to send them to the whole unit ;~D Super if you can get anyone interested in contributing. We need all the donations we can get! :~D
