Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Remember when we posed at the tourist-cam insta-photo place at Kennedy? I just found the pic in a pile and scanned it, not sure if it was ever posted before :~D

Sounds pretty good to me.
Chocolate, on the other hand, except in minute quantities...probably isn't diet friendly. But it's been that kinda day.

Friday was that sort of day.

We got a new microwave! A brand new "over the range" venti-hood type microwave to replace the one that busted! It's black! It has a popcorn button!
We used the balance of those gift cards we got for the dryer and ended up with about $6 left over! So we bought a new metal hose for our dryer...the one we had is plastic and they say they aren't safe.
The guy that was our salesman was the salesman that sold the dryer to the couple that bought it for us. We have no idea who the couple is though..we know they actually came in to the store and bought it.
He told us the couple spoke very highly of us...Steve got emotional, that's the way he is.
I'm stilled stuned. I have no idea.
Steve is putting it up right now.

I'm going stir-crazy today, for some reason. Thinkin' about walking over to the mall, late as it is. Wonder if any of the places-I-didn't-apply-to-quite-yet would have a manager around to bug this late at night and on a weekend.
On the downside...I gotta go past places-I-applied-and-didn't-make-it. *sigh*

It's really somethin' for sure!
It's not a name-brand microwave, but the guy said it was made by the same company that makes Kennmore.
It's really exciting! You could tell the salesman was having a great time, once he figured out who we were. I recognized his name (which was on the dryer order slip which came with the gift cards.) He was tickled to death!

It's gotta make the sales guys feel good, too, to be a part of that. Neat that he got to meet you!

Oh yeah! We were laughing about it, telling him the story about how first the dryer went out, the oven, then the micowave!

That's great! I found mine in a box under the table by our bed a couple of months ago.
*sigh* Entmoot was so much fun!

A Popcorn button? The boys must be thrilled!
I'm glad the salesman shared what the couple said about y'all. It's good to have that affirmation!

Good evenin' everyone! :-D
2J - that is such a cool thing to happen, sis. It is going to be such a terrific story to tell your kids and grandkids. And it's so comforting to hear happy tales when good news seems so scarce at times.
Hair - I'm so glad you found and scanned that pic. ~sigh~ Entmoot seems so long ago but then again, seems like just yesterday.
osage - Glad to hear that LSA is recovering wonderfully! Give her our love.

What always amazes me is how it never seemed like I was meeting someone for the first time at the moots. It was just picking off where we'd left off on-line. And going from Entmoot to say, Shootmoot, or my mini-,moot with Hair, where in reality I hadn't seen any of the folks in a couple years (some not ever)...it gave a really odd sense of time warp. Sure didn't feel like it had been any time at all.

It's installed! Steve and I did it ourselves. I told Steve if we ever do build our own home on a farm, we'll sure know how to do a lot of stuff!
It is cool, Ruthy...the salesman said the couple that came in spent a lot of time looking over the dryers and picked one that would suit our needs.
I'm just astounded.
I wish I could tell them about the microwave! I am telling eveyone I know so hopefully it'll get back to them.
