ACK - "to see" should be "to read" (more coffee and proff red more carefully.
...and I need some major soil amendments for the planter boxes.

Mmmmm.....Bambi bits....
Heh...I knew what you meant. Had to read it through a few times, but I figured it out.
Good Morning. Friend of mine at work got some photos of his sailboat on friday. He has a 35 sailboat, berthed in a marina in Slidell, LA, just off the end of the I-10 bridge. He figured it for a total loss.
Seems that his boat was picked up by the storm surge and had it's stern placed on dock, with no damage to the prop or the rudder. Mast is there as are all the accourtrements that are normally on the deck. Pretty amazing. minimal damage.
Other parts of the marina are completely gone, the boats gone without a trace, others are on shore at various locations. His boat will be in the water this weekend.
Since we have personnel assigned to the I-10 bridge project, they will be staying on the boat, good deal for both. Housing for them and income for him.
would have liked to have been huntin' the past two mornins, but hadtuh werk...
maybe next week... I mean, we only have 4 months left...
may havetuh try huntin' on post a time or two... seein' as I'll be gettin' off at 0600...
would really appreciate the hedgeballs, but I can get a few around here, to save you the trouble...
yuh cain't screw up venison tenderloin... will be replenishin' our supply soon...
*snort*...
What is strange, is that the outside stairs and the lattice panels on the piling level are still there! It seems that the storm surge came up and engulfed the lower level, then a HUGH wave or two came through and just demolished and carried off the upper levels of the house. It was amazing to see those pieces remaining, seemingly undamaged.
OK, thanks!
I've got tomato hornworm with a host of parasitic wasp larvae on it....Kewl! I'd rather have hornworm than those steenkin' squirrels.
Well, that's good news.... I always frown to see the boats tossed up on land.... boats are not just mere inanimate objects like a car... I hate to see them in ruin.
Beautiful pictures!
Yeah - kindof a moody fog today :~D
I'm in a moody mood. Works fer me. ;-)
Did just have an old friend (mostly of Mom's, but mine too) call me out of the blue. She'd guessed the reason I'd been so withdrawn when it comes to folks back home - being kind of ashamed of having no news to give them - and called just to chat, mostly. Very sweet of her.
People are truly awesome sometimes.
Well, that's fun. :~D
True enough, although some cars can have a personality and spirit that can rival that of a boat. Guess it will be years before that stretch of the gulf recovers.
"ponies in the mist", very nice.
The lawn is drying out but not yet ready to cut. The stinkin' squirrels have managed to litter the lawn again. sigh.
Still getting tomatoes, got several ready to pick. LSA made tortilla soup Thursday night, our tomatoes were the puree part. hmmmm. tortilla soup.
Steenkin' rats are everywhere....watching everything....
I wouldn't know about the tomatoes....between the squirrels and the hornworm, tomatoes are few and far between. I did pick some grape tomatoes green the other day and hope I can ripen them inside.
I've got some basil dried and am going to cut some more fresh today.
I think I'll move one of the bookcases to the back room...
She's a very interesting person! Wish I had a treasure trove of stories like that. And she uses word combinations and mixed metaphors that fascinate me. Someone abrasive being "About as warm as sandpaper on a raw wound," or words rolling off someone's tongue "like velvet butter". Out of context, it doesn't make sense, really...but I like it anyhow.
She was telling me about selling "chances" (raffle tickets) in grade school. She had a pet squirrel (sorry OT) that would ride on her shoulder, and when she went off to sell her tickets, the squirrel rode along. The lady at the first house was so fascinated that she called all the neighbors over to see, and the tickets were sold right off, making the other kids jealous. They demanded to know her connections...and she said "just Chomper". Heh.
