Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Well it was on sale, so I moved some of the money I planned to spend next week at the anime con into a different mental category and went for it.

Best buy, $41 after taxes. Not a huge sale but the cheapest I'd seen online was $38 so I got it.

Seriesly good. If anime was that price I'd be a happy camper.
Hmm, some interesting deleted bits... nothing too earth-shattering, I see why they got deleted. Now for the documentaries...

Well, you can either watch tons of it without spending hardly any money, or spend tons of money for hardly any anime. It depends. ;-)

Cooool....
Watching a documentary for the pilot. Our hobbity friend made some reference about learning to surf in New Zealand a few years back.

Heh... I've heard several of the cast members have remarked on how nice it is to be filming the series in Hawaii.

Yeah except they don't seem to like the mud in the jungles.
Talking about how they did the polar bear. Some very silly polar bear puppet shots.

Oh the memories!!! That exact piece is how I found Free Republic back in the day! I was teaching an environmental studies section at the prep school and was looking for humorous material to start the water management section. Did a search and voila - it was posted on Free Republic. It took two more visits before I was hooked. Hooked!
To: Lil'freeper
Well that's ironic!
I just got it in email... I didn't know it's one that's been circulating a long time. I don't ~usually~ post stuff that's circulating in email, but I liked the last sentence of the letter so much it was worth it. ;~D

Good Morning, sip, sip, sip.
Not near as many flags flying today as there once was. Just a couple on our block and we saw less than a dozen on our walk with Gypsygirl.

The last track I saw has the thing going over the outer banks.
Could use the rain here.

Hmmmm.....it's Sunday. People sleeping in?
Got another hour or so to go on the barbecue.....doing the cat door person thing.
To: osagebowman
We con't have a flag up. But it's not because we don't care. It's because life is more normal again now. Four years ago, the whole country couldn't shake the images and emotions most of us shared. Now we really have to stop and ~try~ to remember feeling like we did that day.
