Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Clare and I just got back from a Girl Scout meeting. Looks like they're going to be doing more stuff this year than last. That's good. They complained last year that they didn't do much fun stuff, and I reminded them that since THEY are the ones who are supposed to be doing the planning, that if they wanted to do fun stuff this year, they'd better start thinking about it! ;o)

Lemme see if I can find it.

I figgered it out. It's "Dancing with the Stars."
Auditions for the Christmas show are this weekend. The audition form calls for pictures on both your dramatic and dance auditions.
I've been Tom Cruise and Mikhail Barishnikov.
Last year I was Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly.
The show this year takes place mostly at the North Pole, so I'm going to be Will Ferrell (in Elf) and John O'Hurley from "Dancing with the Stars."
Wife talked me out of Glenn Close and Ann Miller...

That's the Fox version. The ABC one pairs an actor with a professional dancer and they work on a ballroom dancing routine.

In professional auditions you have your 8x10 b/w glossy with your resume. But for us this is just something they ask you to do so they can remember who is who.
It's mainly for the people auditioning for the first time. They know me, so I always do something goofy.

I didn't watch it.
Wife said she was in an airport somewhere this summer, she walked into the bar and saw all the guys at the bar with their eyes glued to the TV. She tried to figure out what game was on.
It was "DWTS."
