Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sand and Stone and Pool and Dell...
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

ATTN FREEPERS!
I've tested both of these 100% free services.
In a nut shell just "right click" on any pic
(as long as it is not copyrighted or adult content)
you see on the internet and save it to your hard drive,
then use either service and upload it to either free image server.
You'll see the linking url, which you can hotlink, and YOU can post it on FR!
Click on either image to visit their website.

I'd say partial shade. This year the impatiens did better there than the snapdragons.

mmmm...trellis...
I've been tryin' to grow Morning Glories on the nayber's fence that is up by the drive way. I keep readin' how they're an invasive weed and you can't get rid of 'em.
I can't get 'em to grow.
In other news, why did I ever think it was a good idea to put together a timeline on this Katrina thing.

Evening!
I really shouldn't be reading any other threads. There are a couple this evening that are tempting me to post stuff that'd likely get me in trouble.
There are wayyyyy too many boorish idiots in this world, ya know?

I'm not sure if you're being kind and helpful...or shoving him over the edge into total madness.

Heh, I was trying to be helpful, but I was surprised by how many "timeline" threads there were once I did a search for them.

Yep...and depending on how much detail you fill in, making a timeline could be a pretty big project!

I saw 'em all. I initially wanted to do what everyone else was doing and prove who was to "blame." But there's enough of that going around. I mainly want a chronology with my own "flair" so to speak (I have to talk to you about your flair.)
Of course I'm not saying there won't be a few snarky comments here and there. I'm almost done. It's far from thorough, but it gives the feel of what was happening.
And I'm...um..."borrowing" heavily from other threads.
I had to take a break though. I got an email from the alumni office at my college. The article from the alumni board president can't run in the campus newspaper this week (long story, it will run later), so she asked if I could crank something out...by Tuesday a.m. I've got a draft together for the wife to review when she gets back in town tomorrow night.
And while we're at it...

Well cool on the article. Are you gonna be snarky in it or straight-up?
And how does one add flair to a timeline? Seems like more than one or two pieces and it'll just crumple in on itself.

The alumni article? It'll be pretty straight up. Nothing currently to be snarky about there.
