LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Ben Affleck is taking another shot at television, closing in on a deal with ABC for a drama pilot about a fractured America. Affleck will write and executive produce a pilot called "Resistance," about a near-future United States that has splintered into separate nations following devastating terrorist attacks. The show will focus on a group of people trying to restore the Constitution and democracy, the showbiz trade papers report.

Well I'm sure this will be fair to the red states and conservatives.

It's an interesting premise, but I'm sure that Mr. Pretty will likely mess it up.

Think: Dogma II, or Gigli II.

Honest to God--women tell me I look like Ben Affleck all the time. I used to take it as a compliment.

No originality what so ever. Does anybody see "Red Dawn" here, or is it just me?

The show will focus on a group of people trying to restore the Constitution and democracy, the showbiz trade papers report. No...it won't. It will be a hyper activist view of a USA that should have been were it not for those pesky Founding Fathers and their religious right followers.

Cross purposes. Libs would deconstruct the Constitution, not restore it. And what are they going to fight with, Popsicle sticks? They sure as hell won't allow possession of firearms.

Let me guess the plot, non Muslim terrorist attack the USA with Chemical and Nuclear weapons. The dirty right wing conservatives abolish all rights and the liberal patriots will restore democracy. Now I don't need to watch it.

Yeah, but who owns the guns?
Oh, I get it, the libs sit this one out also. It's the nutty right wing fighting each other.

Don't tell me, let me guess. Those *eeeevil* red-staters broke away, they won't let women get abortions, they ram Evangelical Christianity down the throats of Jews and Muslims, and it's up to these downtrodden, outnumbered blue-staters to put things right...

Too bad there is no way to 'sell short' a TV production the way you can a stock you know is gonna tank. There is serious money to be made betting against this turkey.

Let me guess: the former "Red States are called the "Condfederate States of Jesusland. Abortion carries a summary death penalty and and Amos n' Andy is the number one show on TV.

I bear a lot of resemblance to a sasquatch, but dang it, I'm a nice guy. But here's loser with the cool haircut and good looks but he isn't a nice guy at all.
That's not justice.

No originality what so ever. Does anybody see "Red Dawn" here, or is it just me?No, I see "Blue Dawn."
The title "Resistance" gives away the slant. Think picket lines, protests, and ACLU lawyers fighting the good fight against their eeeeevil, greedy, heartless, right-wing bourgeois capitalist pig oppressors.
