lol! nully, I think that's the problem many men have, whether they're an engineer or not...you guys think you have to fix something to be helping.....it's more difficult for you to just listen....something I think women are a little better doing, imho.
She's also technically a step daughter. I think of her as a 'real' daughter. At least she seems pretty real to me. ;^)
Thanks for the prayer...
Probably.
She was a fascinating person to be friends with, and she was a source of pride and joy.
The subtleness of the necklace being in the sketch would likely be missed if it wasn't pointed out, though it is likely the most significant part of the sketch.
Necklace shows up better in this sketch.
(Also an example of how wrong a scan can go with the scanner..)

(Likely you will have ot right click and save as to view it, it scanned BIG.)
I can make you a deal...
Last time I tried my hand at golf, I took out power over a small area.
I said "Fore!", hit the ball, and then watched it shoot straight into the cooling fins on a transformer.
Boom, power is out.
It is probably not a good idea that I play golf.
I know.
But it is hard to just sit and listen sometimes.
The temptation to go 'fix' something, or someone, is high at times.
Like I said, it was a hard lesson, and I'm still not sure I learned it.
Tracker's Vigil....and it has alien handwriting...it looks like...what does this represent to you, darks, when you were drawing this?
Maybe that is one gift that she began in you, darks.
now, it's my turn I guess to call it a night; I'm pretty tired.
I will see you all tomorrow. Sweet dreams...no nightmares (darks!) : )
Nite all.
I'm not always crimson and clover 5 by 5.
I'm not always chivalrous and 'nice', sometimes when someone I care about is hurt, I can be rather rough with the one doing the hurt.
A sometimes failing of mine.
Can be a bad thing despite it being with good intentions.
("Crimson and clover" and "5 by 5" means 'everything is okay'. Don't ask where I picked up the terms, I still have strange dreams about the place.)
I'm listening....
"Something you may have otherwise not done until it was a day too late."
Story of my life in a way.
I always hated saying 'goodbye', I always said 'goodnight' or 'see you in the morning'.
But never 'goodbye'.
Welcome.
I thought of my daughter as being 'real' to me as well.
Had her listed as my inheritor should I have died in uniform.
And, she called me 'father', which was real enough for me.
Heck, she wouldn't have graduated if I hadn't griped at her about it one evening.
Thank God she listened to my advice that night, graduation day was an extremely fun day.
Well, it is the second drawing, the first is this one:

Notice the necklace is being worn.
In the second one, he's holding the necklace.
He's also tailing along behind her, at a good distancec to be sure as she's moved on before he got to the monuments, but he's there.
The lettering is from a script I thought up, have it scribbled down somewhere.
It has my initials and some other stuff written in there.
The second one, trackers vigil, somewhat represent to me those who are left 'behind' by the loss of a loved one.
(Note the horrible quality of the scans, scanner decided to change every setting despite what I'd told it to do.)
Probably.
I grabbed the golf clubs and hightailed it out of there.
The transformer went up, and I was running.
Haven't tried golfing since.
That is the second of a series of two sketches.
The first is in post 3416.
I changed some stuff from one to the other.
You'll notice that her eyes are shut.
And his eyes are open.
In sketches since these, I've reversed what that meant in the sketch.
What it initially meant was 'if the eyes are shut, the person has passed on.'
But now if I draw someone with their eyes open, it means they are no longer alive.
I dunno why, I just decided ot switch it up like that.
