Loddy sends his "heart-felt condolences on the loss of your furry friend...that is some of the toughest duty that we who have pets are called on to perform when it's time for them to cross over that rainbow bridge."
I associate myself with his sentiments.

MORE FOOD

We had Paella today.
To: Cardhu
Looks like a Cajun seafood gumbo, yes.
To: Cardhu
OMG! You made it from scratch and with almost everything yummy. Very nice.
To: westmex
There are cracks in the culture, but I think we are a long way from collapse.... Your generation built a solid foundation, no matter what the MSM says.
To: westmex; Cardhu
Thanks so much; both of you.
It is sounding as if a storm is coming. Seems fitting for a difficult day.

This one is one of my absolute favorites. My sister-in-law had brought him that huge catnip candy cane, and he wasn't interested in waiting until Christmas. Nermal took his catnip VERY seriously.
You can tell it's an old film picture. The colors have faded terribly. .

Of course, once I started growing the primo 'nip, he didn't have much use for that inferior store bought stuff. He had a routine. Every morning, come bug me to get up, eat breakfast, go out and check on his catnip plants, graze, nap in sun next to plants. Kinda like kitty coffee...only in reverse.

Of course, that was in his younger days. The past 3 or 4 years, he hasn't much cared for it. I sometimes thought maybe he couldn't smell so well any more.

Yes we made if from scratch, even the water was boiled on four bricks and a bunch of wood.
I have never had Cajun gumbo Babe but I imagine it is similar with the addition of rice.

This is how it looked a few minutes later.

My moms previous cat "Chloe" was heavily addicted to catnip.
When she was a wild outdoor stray, we'd find her rolling in the catnip beds with her eyes dilated and the nicitating membranes half over them.
She looked rather amusing.
