Perhaps I'm being paranoid. I have a nagging feeling this is bad.

Oh, I think it might get even worse... I'm smelling something, myself.

my biology book in high school (and college) presented it the same way.

And high school was 18 years ago.

Isn't the core theme of biology how living things work?

Yes.

You are not paranoid, how is the art work? Do they still include pictures of the progression of ape to man?

Just bring it up in the middle of class and ask why they have a book like that.

It isn't too surprising...any major textbook will present it as fact. Just bring up the issue in class.

The evo's will jump all over you because you're so stupid that you didn't know it was a "SCIENTIFIC FACT". They love these threads because they get to play condescending scientist head games and it gives them someting to do with their extra chat time. Ping Patrick Henry and he will fill you in on how stupid you are.

Also, the picture needs to be one that is already on the Internet. Not just on your computer.

I don't care in any fanatical way whether or not evolution is true. Whatever you believe, if a school science book presents a theory as if it's true, isn't that a problem? If I did miss the proof, what is it?

Well Hillary just crawled from some "soup" and then had the audacity to speak. Well I would like to think that we can KILL any thing that would say such a untruth. KILL KILL KILL

The theory of relativity is just a theory too. Of course no one has ever document any physical phenomemon inconsistent with its predictions.

You don't have to believe in evolution to study the idea. Pay attention to the scientific methods used to describe evolution and look for the holes. Most of the big holes are in the math, random mutations can't happen in an organized way. Biology is a fun subject, enjoy it; just don't believe everything you read.

My son took two years of college-level biology at home...but it was with a Christian bent, and exposed those key areas where evolutionists can not explain the obvious design. There are some really good AP Biology texts available. He can pass all required tests with a wink and a smile, and still not compromise his faith.

You can live in the world, and still be faithful. Many molecular biologists have had their faith strengthened with recent developments over the last dozen years. Many fear that the increase in technology has caused a falling away...in biology, where the inner workings of design are most evident, the opposite is true. It has become harder and harder to deny the evidence.

It is truly amazing how incredible the intricate design is in living organisms, yet people that still want to be their own masters put the blinders on so they can stay on path they are comfortable with.

Once they acknowledge that there is design, then they may have to take the extra step and acknowledge that they might not be their own masters after all. That is scary for one without faith.

it's not really a biology class, you see. it's a class in applied propaganda. pay close attention.

Well you can expect more of the same when you get into college. My college Bio instructor showed a film that "proved" Evolution has to be true.

Since the instructor left the room during the film, the majority of the students were making fun of the film. I would say about 75% stated that in their opinion the very basis of the film did the opposite of what the instructor was trying to accomplish. They concluded that the film proved creation instead of evolution.

The irony of the whole situation was that you could write a paper in support of evolution using the information of the film to earn extra credit. Out of eighty students in the class, not one student wrote that paper for extra credit.

I debated evolution vs creationism on numerous occasions during class and was able to stump her every time. This instructor has her MS degree, yet I was able to debate her and cause her to back away from the theories that she was using to prop up her statements. If you would like some really well written material to use as a resource to back up your beliefs in creationism look up Institution for Creation Research. IMHO one of the best books that they have published is actually a history book titled Streams of Civilization. Read the first section or two of the book and you will be able to debate evolution vs creationism very well using ICR talking points.

The TOE is a hoax. If you allow people who want to support the TOE to definitively state what is TOE-supporting "evidence", then yeah, they have "evidence." Nothing important is supported by the TOE, except nonsensical musings. The good news is, brave and honest people who know the scientific jargon are saying it's a hoax. The hoax is circling the drain...

Here's a review from Amazon.com.

That review tells me that this:

"My bio book, Biology: Concepts and Conections, talks about the theory of evolution as if it's not theory, or ever was.

Is BS.

and this:

"On a related note, my text book says "Evolution is biology's core theme.""

Is also BS. Yeah, huh!

troll.

They got trolls in that book? Look under pond scum.

I see you are in AZ; do you know if your textbooks are selected by the state legislature or if your districts are able to select which ever books they want to use?

Here in TX the state legislature selects several different science books, English, math, etc., then the districts can choose from the "approved" selections.

However in WA state that's a decision made up to each individual school district, the state doesn't get involved w/the decision (until it ends up in court!).

My question based on the answer of the would be - are you getting the best of the worst based on what was made available by the state or was it a totally independent decision by the science committee in your district. Sometimes knowing the answer to that helps you know who really sucked at making the selection. It gives you a better mark in which to address any complaints.

I hope this is clearer than mud! LOL

Each time your instructor starts to discuss an evolutionary event, era, or process, you need to wave your hands and ask, in a loud clear voice, "WHERE YOU THERE?"
