I don't have a problem with Restroom. If I ever went to America I'd be sure to buy a dictionary so I knew what the essential words translated to. Toilet is a French word. In England we prefer loo (also a French derivative) or bog (I think very Anglo-Saxon)

Toilet is a French word.Toilette, in one sense the act or process of dressing, generally not far advanced in The Toilet of Venus.
