This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
So this is last week when the farrier was here.
So we took the mesh off and put some RR ties down, then a round.
This is Cyn getting involved in the tightening of the new mesh.
ecurbh showing her how to work the wynch...
Cyn says to Bay - "did you get all that? I didn't get it."
Here it is all done... I think those ties will do a better job of keeping the bedding and whatnot on the inside.
We're gonna add another round at the top of it so they don't lean over and bend it.... but we didn't have them today and we were tired :~D
Glad she'll have a good home. :~D
We don't have a good quality sale here... just the crap sale, where there are some good riding horses being sold quick at the beginning, and they always go cheap, and then at the end, they run all the meat horses through.... I can't bear to go.
That is so good to hear. Bob has really pushed the envelope by ignoring kidney infections and has twice been hospitalized - once for a weeks time. It is nothing to play with.
Great pictures Beaker.:) You're right that horse doesn't look 29, very nice:)
Becky
It's too heartbreaking to attend those kind of horse sales. That's why I like this sale. No meat horses.
Fence looks good. Cyn cracks me up. So helpful.. ;")
Hey, that looks great:). It's so nice to get a job like that done. I've been out 4-5 times today to admire my handy work:)
Becky
Go see your doctor, Sharn.
We just got lights. As I mentioned earlier I like it warm but we had no ventilation. Mosquitoes would eat us up if I opened the doors. I've got to get some screens.
Whoa. Cool pictures.
Cyn looks just like she's watching very closely how this works. You know if she knows how to put one up then she probably knows how to take it down:')
Heh... That's what we're afraid of ;~D
She's a weird horse... she wants to be involved, walking into the middle of the project, but she really doesn't want to be pet, she's curious about the project.
It is good.... it's a good tired at the end of the day. Couple times, when we hit frustrating parts, we wished we'd have just gone riding though :~D
My dad took them. He got some really good shots!
It looks good what you have done! : ) I always find though, when I start something, it always leads to another job, then another, then another! LOL : )
Well copy it and take it with but see what your doctor says ok?
Tell Dad, "good job":')
I'd bet money that you have a kidney infection. I've had a couple of kidney stones and had a rip roaring infection with the first one.
