The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I snapped at someone and haven't been back on. Whether or not the dog is a legit service dog is not the issue, the point is that the woman is just plain nasty. For the sake of everyone involved, I hope that the story is made up!

Actually it's been cooling down from what it was! At least there is a breeze now! : )
It's a crisp New England fall day here! I keep looking up at the trees expecting to see the leaves turning!

It really is, dragging those panels around and setting them up by yourself is hard work. This is the first time tho that I did it with out banging or pinching a finger putting the couplers in, or having a panel I'm trying to set up coming down and banging my head:) I think I'm getting better at it:) Here's pictures of Harley's run now.

The offending panel.

And the feed room.

With those two panels that angle out and then the one that turns back to the perimiter panels the whole thing is much more stable. When that line of fence just came straight from the barn to the perimeter panels it wobbled alot. I'm very pleased with the way it came out, altho from the pictures it's hard to tell how much better it is.

Yes it does. I'm leaving it laying there so Mack can add it to a load of junk in the dump truck we are hauling off. We;ve been very neglectful the last few years about keeping things in good repair, but the last few weeks we have gotten some of this stuff straightened up, and now I've got this done:)

That one piece of that panel that has broken loose from the bottom rail has been worrying me for months. But I just couldn't figure out how to fix it, till I found that other panel. Anyway, I feel alot better about putting a horse in there now:). And I'm very ready to get Rock's run and the line of hot wire out back replaced. Then well be set for awhile.

It's so funny to watch a horse in a run when you change the fence line:). The way they sneak up where the fence use to be and sniff and snort before walking thru:)...

Heh... Horses are funny.

We have a repair job to do too.... a broken wire in the pasture fence. I think the spooked deer from the other night did it, but not sure. It's the bottom wire, and it was an old wire. I'm trying to figure out if we should do that or try to actually go on a ride today.

Morning. I just got the yard mowed. I'm cooling down and then going to go plant a couple of trees and clean my car then work in the house awhile. I have my first "camp" class today at 6. I'm really looking forward to it. Eddie has backed out though. Hopefully I can get a few pics.

Now that the new people have moved into the other house, (they are very nice), I have a lot less yard to mow! : ) Probably less that 6 acres! : )

Thanks. It really didn't take that long to do, I think I'm mainly tired because I was up at 5 to see how things with going with the hurricaine.

Now I think it's time for a nap, and I'll get serious about riding again on Mon. unless it's raining here then. mack is taking the day off tomorrow, thank heavens, he needs one, so unless he's catching up on sleep tomorrow, I won't ride then either.

I just have a little yard but it's ornament compact. This winter we may put a pool in and going to pour some patios. I don't know if that will make it better or worse. My 4 y/o gd a worker. I hope she stays that way. She loves to help me clean and work in the yard.

You're still dealing with heat, we're hoping it warms up enough to want to be outside! It's chilly! :~D

It got down to 34 last night! Will heat up to 65 today, they think, and we've decided to go for a ride this afternoon around 2ish. Might be warm enough then that I can wash my filthy horse before putting my tack on him.
