The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

I got a flier today about a saddlery going out of business action next weekend.I really don't need anything but it's fun to look. There will be a drawing for a silver show saddle too (whatever that is:')

I have to show you though, what was really the highlight of our wedding day... The float plane that took us away :~D

We did a couple fly-bys, and then got the heck out of there :~D

Mornin'!

Hair - that float plane was THE coolest thing I'd ever seen at a wedding. It was such an honor (and such a blast!) to actually have been there to share that day with you, ecurbh and your families.

:-D

I got a babysitter for both of my girls today so I'm going to take advantage and go trail riding this morning.

I feel guilty not taking Rebecca with me this time, but I'd like to be able to ride just once without having to turn around in the saddle every 5 minutes to see how she's faring.

See you all later!

I know you've had a rough couple weeks, and if a trail ride alone (or quasi-alone :~D) will help you clear your head (and it always does for me) go for it and enjoy!

Good morning.... I think it missed everyone here.... tuffy will get dumped on, but I think she kindof wanted that, as long as the wind has settled down.

Actually it's been cooling down from what it was! At least there is a breeze now! : )
We are finishing laying tile on our balcony today. Then I am going to be unpacking some more boxes that came over 4 years ago from the UK. We are trying to get as much done as soon as we can, so that we can sell.

Ruthie, have a good ride:)

I was sitting outside this morning drinking a last cup of coffee before heading out on Harley when I got a wild hair. That one panel that Harley climb last winter getting away form Rocky has been driving me nuts. It was so bowed that the whole side of that run, (where I'm keeping Harley now that Rusty is gone) had a terrible terrible lean to it, and had one jagged edge sticking out. I just discovered one day last week that I had an extra panel out behind the shop. So this morning I got busy, and rearranged that run, and actually found out that there was only one panel really damaged, the other just leaned because of the bad one. Then I also added a panel I was using somewhere else for a gate, (I can change that to a hot wire gate with no problem. So Harley's run is not only straight now, It's bigger and alot more stable because with the extra panels I was able to put some angles in the line with helps keep them straight. Then I got my feed room switched to a different stall that still had a gate in front of it, so now I don't have to worry about a horse getting in the feed room....We still have a lot of cleaning up to do out there, tear out the stall that is a chicken coop, etc, we are going to use the extra stalls to park some of Macks equipment in, but Harleys' run and the feed room are now safe and secure. I've still got to get Chris out here to put in some fence posts to make Rockys pen straighter, tighter and better, but for now it is still holding.

Now I'm trying to decide if I'm too worn out and it's to hot to go ride. I think I'll sit and have some more coffee, then decide.

Becky
