The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Well, we had intentions of going riding yesterday, because rain is ~expected~ today, but we couldn't muster the energy. It's sure overcast and muggy enough. ecurbh says 61 and 86% humidity right now.

We're gonna go to the indian casino for brunch buffett we think. :~D

Thinking of you two this morning with this storm coming. I know you aren't gonna get it head on, thankfully, but you're definately gonna get some very bad weather.

Thanks Hair! Been busy this morning getting vehicle's fuel tanks filled or topped off. Expecting gas prices to go up this week after the storm hits.

: ) that's the way to go!
We have been very busy this past weekend. We had our 3 bed house on the market and it sold in 3 days! Just for sale by owner signs! :)
Then last night I couldn't decide what to cook. I used to love going to an Indian restuarant in the UK and can easily make a curry from scratch, but decided to go the whole works and make a vegetable curry with garlic nan bread and onion bhajees.. Mmmmm lots of work but worth the effort and we ate it all too! : D (kids loved it!)

Fall's coming... when it's clear, it's been getting down to just under 50, but this morning it's overcast and 58. And muggy, but you folks probably won't let me complain about muggy at 58 degrees. :~D

"Falls coming" I wish someone would let GA know that! It is so hot here you can hardly breathe when you go outside! I mowed yesterday for 30 mins and that was too much. It seems like I have to wait till the evening to get anything done.
I love cool weather and I know it sounds crazy but I like it cold. I love snow, not for skiing or that mess, but for it's sheer beauty and the way the woodland looks when turned white. Also getting warm in front of a log fire after chilly work outside is the best! : )

We had waffles, pancakes, french toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits and gravy, corned beef hash, prime rib, teriyaki chicken, pasta alfredo, salmon, fried cod, mashed potatos, a stuffed pepper and a roll.

Grits are best used to patch up holes in paved roads or used to fill in holes in old buildings sheet rock! It doesnt matter what I've been told to put on them, they just can't be for human consumption!

As for "batter"ing......we Scots were the first to do the deep fried mars bar! If it stays still long enough, batter it and fry it! : D

I think he had a black lab dog who he named Catfish. He wrote for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution until he passed away a few years ago. Now the paper/liberal rag, is known as the Urinal and Costipation, for good reasons.
