The FreeRepublic Saddle Club - Who's Who *pics*

This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.

I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!

I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.

So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

What happened to Sara Lee's sides? Did I miss something?

I'm not sure. She's got several small areas . Normally, I wouldn't be concerned but they would be where the sides my saddle fit so I'm waiting a few days. There is a couple that would also be in the cinch area. Most just no hair areas but a few scabbed.

I'm off until 2pm. We should finish up today. I called my boss. Hopefully she won't need me this morning. I'm a little tired.

Yeah, I need to get up and wash some clothes. I can't find my cat this morning. I wonder where he's at.

If u cant find your cat, check the linen basket, washer and dryer before you start!
My female is pregnant and due any day : ) we like a lot of cats around here because there is always a good mice population in the cotton/peanut/peach fields nearby!

I've been watching the news this morning while drinking my coffee. What a way to start the morning:\

2 things: Dana Reeve (Christopher Reeves wife), has lung cancer and has never smoked.

And one of the young boys involved in the school shooting in Ala. 7 years ago gets out tomorrow:\ He is 21 now, says he wants to be a minister. I don't know how I feel about this. Sad thing is, no one will Know how this is going to be till his life is over.

This reminded me of that 7 year old that killed his mother's boyfriend a few weeks ago. So sad. Maybe this young man has turned his life over to Christ. As you say, time will tell. Praying for him.

Here's some other odd news.

Freeper Harry Clark (The Other Harry) has passed away

He's the guy that posted the thread about getting the pony last week.

Oh my. That is sad.

The man did sound a bit wacko, but I felt sorry for him some from the way he was treated on his threads. If he had all those problems, ahcoholism, bipolar etc. he needed some compassion. Who knows how he was effected. I believe internet relationships can be dangerous, especially for the mentally unstable. None of us really knows how we effect others on here. You know there was a chance he wasn't wacko, and just BSing:), but you just don't know.

Funny how we build pictures of people on the internet. I'd bet 99% of the time our perspectives are wrong:\

IMO It is hard not to be judgmental sometimes. Just because a person has a difference of opinion and way of life from us, does not mean that we should not have respect for that person. If a person has a difference of opinion from me, and I think they are wrong and they think I am wrong, then we should respect each other and agree to differ! : ) IMO Off! : D

Oh I know. I've caught myself being nasty to people here. It's not right. But we are all human. I've just learned to scroll scroll scroll when I see things that get under my skin. There are just some subjects that agreeing to disagree is very very difficult, those subjects where you KNOW you are right, and it's NOT just your opinion:)

Becky, are you trying to tell us you're actually a middle aged man? :~D

I think it's true that you can be wrong about people in casual posting acquaintances. However, my experience with people who I post to day in day out on 'daily threads', is that my perceptions become very accurate, or at least as accurate as we are with knowing any of our friends in life. When all of us from the Hobbit Hole got together for a week last year, there were no surprises, most everyone was exactly how we thought they'd be. I have the same sense about you. It's hard to maintain a false image of yourself day in and day out to the same people when chatting about daily life.
