I just called up the label information for Granulex on Jeffer's website and it doesn't look like there's any reason to not use it on small cuts...

Granulex®-V
Pfizer
AEROSOL

For veterinary use only

Each gram delivered to the wound site contains:

Trypsin, crystalline, N.F. 0.12 mg
Balsam Peru, N.F. 87.0 mg
Castor Oil, USP 788.0 mg

With a water-dispersible emulsifier and propellants.

Inert propellant 25% of total content.

Granulex is an aid in the treatment of external wounds such as wire cuts, rope burns, abrasions, and lacerations in dogs, cats, horses, and cattle; and assists healing by facilitating the removal of necrotic tissue, exudate, and organic debris.

DIRECTIONS

SHAKE WELL. Hold can upright approximately 12 inches from the area to be treated. Press valve and coat rapidly. Wound may be left unbandaged or apply a wet dressing. Apply twice daily or as often as necessary. To remove, wash gently with warm water. When applied to sensitive areas, a temporary stinging sensation may be noted.

WARNINGS

Do not use on fresh arterial clots.

Avoid spraying in eyes and nostrils.

Keep out of reach of children.

Use only as directed. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents can be harmful or fatal.

CAUTION: Flammable—Do not use near fire or open flame. Contents under pressure, do not puncture or incinerate. Do not expose to temperatures above 120°F.

Yeah, it is a pretty deep gash on his back leg, and I agree he either did it to himself, or ran into an old stump or something running, there are still a few out there. I would have thought he knew where they were at but might not have been able to pay attention.

I'll sweat it awhile today to help with the swelling, then I think he'll be fine. He' not favoring it all.

...another mess...

My sentiments exactly! I just hate it when stuff like this happens. I just start running around, wringing my hands, saying "Oh man!...Oh Man!" and trying to figure out what to do about it. It stresses me out beyond belief. Grace was real good about letting me doctor it though. I kept expecting her to kick my lights out, but she didn't. I told her what a good girl she was when I got through and gave her a goodie. Then everybody feels better. :o)

How pretty.

I'd love to be sitting looking at a lake right now.

Well, this is Puget Sound, so it's salt water, and it's very cold all the time, about 58 degrees. It would cool ya right off!

Wow! That's a really nice view. Thanks for sharing it. Now I can just sit here and look at it and think cool thoughts instead of about all this heat and humidity here.

His geraniums look really healthy. I love those, but I can never get them to look that good so I finally quit trying.

So I guess you're not going to be back in time to join me for lunch? I'm getting fairly hungry and will go ahead and get something if you are still going to be there a while yet.

I can do good geraniums, they're my favorite to do. They need daily deadheading, and full sun. I didn't do any flowers this year.... just didn't get around to it :~\

Anyone watching Fox News or CNN? There is a huge industrial solvent fire in Fort Worth, explosion after explosion. I can see it nearly 30 miles away in Denton County.

Yes, I do have Scarlex. I usually use Furazone.

Check with your vet on Granulex. It can form proud flesh, actually. It can form hard, bubbly-looking scar tissue and it is really caustic. Note it says for the removal of necrotic tissue.

I wouldn't use it on small cuts at all. But check with your vet.
