"Did anyone catch the update on Andythanksyou.com regarding an update on his condition. This afternoon there was an update dated 7/7/05 stating Andy was in critical condition with his family by his side.
I just went by to check it and IT DISAPPEARED!!! "

No. It is typical, though. He must have looked on the wrong page of the script and then had to cover his error.

Andy Stephenson Medical Update 7/7/2005 - 9 PM CDT

It sounds like Andy is gravely ill now. In that case, I say let's lay off all the question marks and red flags and politicized plights, and let's see what happens and hope for the best for Andy. None of us bears any ill will toward Andy personally, and we pray for his welfare physically and spiritually.

I forgot to post yesterday, because we were all deeply shocked and saddened by the events across the seas.

In solidarity with the people of London suffering this dastardly attack, everyone is mourning the people of London, and we all mourn with them.

I think that says what most all of us are feeling.

Honestly: can scamdy.com get sued re: Andy Stephenson?

These evil pricks tried to obstruct a terminal cancer patient's access to medical care because of that cancer patient's ideological views. Let's not kid ourselves; those assholes on the right would have let Andy get care if he wasn't a liberal activist. Isn't that kinda like premeditated attempted murder?

Now that's what I call "playing politics!"

Seeing as how scamdy.com didn't come into existence until after Andy's May 25 surgery, it's hard to see logically how it can be accused of interfering with his access to medical care.

Of course, logic and facts aren't a strong suit in DUmmieland.

I hope Andy finds the mercy we all require.

Not only was the site not in existence until after Andy's surgery, but there were two more reasons given for the delay. One of which was that he needed a "super duper" test before the surgery could be performed.

He could have gotten medical care much earlier in Seattle at one of the best hospitals around. We didn't do anything but question the way it was being done. If we would have gotten answers other than lies and foul language, this would have gone a whole different direction.

One simple way to honor Andy. . .

Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 10:56 AM by stellanoir

On a whim I just sent this e-mail to ABC's "This Week."

To Whom it May Concern

I really appreciate the fact that you consistently honor those American lives lost in Iraq and Afghanistan more than any other network news show.

Another warrior sadly lost his battle with complications from pancreatic surgery last evening. He was a warrior, not in the so-called "war on terror," but in the uphill battle for verified voting in defense of our democracy.

His name was Andy Stephenson and he was a hero to many on the internet and a leader in the struggle to have greater accountability in our voting systems and true election reform. The support he received from the online community during his medical struggle was overwhelmingly moving.

http://www.andythanksyou.com /

You spend so much time speculating on elections, candidates, and polls, and no time whatsoever concentrating on the fact that the integrity of each and every vote has been severely compromised in the last several national elections.

Please consider affirming his selfless dedication and life's work by including him in your "In Memoriam" tribute segment of your show.

Thank you in advance for your consideration in this matter.

Respectfully submitted, xxxxxx

"The right of voting for representatives is the primary right by which all other rights are protected. To take away this right is to reduce a man to slavery." Thomas Paine

Please consider sending a similar request.

on edit- the thought just occured to me that all the photo's of Andy on the link I sent seemed to be of him during his hospitalization. If anyone has better picts of him, and is thinking about writing to ABC please attach a couple good ones. thanks

I notice he keeps commenting on lack of money for lawyers, any chance he'll be asking for donations soon?

I really want to know, has this son of a bitch ever really kicked someone's ass? Really? Even once? Or is he just an internet tough guy. Don't make threats cowboy. Just show up! Just show up and do it.

Flowers for Andy

Edited on Fri Jul-08-05 02:27 PM by Midlodemocrat

Skinner has given me permission to post this. I have set up a PayPal account for donations in case anyone would like to contribute for flowers from all of us here at DU.

The email is FlowersforAndy@cs.com

Paypal.com

There is some thought that there might be quite a lot of money left over, so if anyone has a suggestion about a donation to a charity that Andy would like, please PM me to let me know.

Thanks.

And, please keep this kicked.

Well ya'll, I'm out of here. I'm going up to Indiana to my parents house to ride out this storm. It looks like it may be a direct hit here in Pensacola. Please keep the Gulf Coast in your prayers and my husband who will be staying at home.

In light of recent developments at DU regarding this whole affair, I want to clear a few things up.

1. Those who criticize and condemn the effort to obtain the truth regarding the recent fund-raising scandal at DU, can just get over it. These folks would tell people to shut up about a brushfire in a pine forest during a drought. So spare me the histrionic wailing about what quite a few folks from all over the political spectrum thought was a very suspicious and possibly illegal online fund-raising operation. "Oh you did not donate so shut up about it", they say. I didn't have any money in the bank that got robbed today in any part of America today either, but bank robbery still concerns me enough to motivate me to attempt to prevent it and to be on the side of justice when it occurs.

2. As far as any blame for anything in this situation goes, it belongs to the members of DU. They put it out there for ALL to see. Who would know anything about this if they hadn't attempted to make it a battle cry for socialized medicine and had it posted all over the Internet? DU politicized it. Now they are upset about the controversy swirling all around what they themselves created. Oh, well. Get over it, DU.

3. Despite recent developments, the search for the truth will continue, I am sure. It is definitely beyond my power to stop it. It is beyond the power of anyone, really. It's all over the World Wide Web now, just where DU wanted it to be. And unless they shut the Internet down, who can stop the questions?

So again I say, get over it DU. You made this mess yourselves. All your frenzied rage, tearful pleadings and threats of retaliation will not change that. It is you, DU, who should be ashamed of yourselves. But you are not, are you?
