I like Locke too. He's a little weird. And Hurley always makes me laugh. Don't really care for the female characters as much though once Claire's not being kidnapped or whatever every ten minutes she'll probably be cool.

I don't really like Jack. He's not a very complicated character. You never wonder what his reaction is going to be.

Of course Locke is weird, he's a gamer! ;) And while Hurley is usually comic relief, there's a dangerous subtext to his character, too; I get the definite impression he may have spent time as a patient in a mental institution.

I'll admit I find Kate... interesting. Aside from being just slightly gorgeous, she has the whole "bad girl" thing going for her...

Interesting you should say that... have you noticed, that while Locke is the one saying that some destiny or fate brought them all to the island, he's also the one most loudly declaring his personal freedom ("Don't tell me what I can't do!") whereas Jack, who says he doesn't believe in fate or destiny, is the one who most willingly accepts his role on the island (hero/leader). You're right, you always know what Jack's reaction is going to be, because he almost never fights his role.

Jack may be the one to watch most closely, though... if there really is something mystical or supernatural happening on the island, Jack is most likely the one who will have to make the largest adjustments in his personal world-view...
