.357 Magnum in a Winchester 94 carbine is a very pleasant cartridge to shoot, very manageable.

Heh...so I can add yet another to my list o' things I'd like to try/own someday. Not good.

I was being too gentle with the lever-action, too. I'd like another try at that someday. I wasn't getting the casings expelled right.

Yeah I had that problem a bit when I first got it. Got to get the right snap of the wrist down pat. Most gun manipulation (except triggers) requires a solid firm movement. People these days are use to plastic devices and keyboards so most new people I get out there are a bit timid at first with racking slides and bolts and working levers. Easy to get over that. You did only fire it a few times. I love the model 94 for it's classic stylish look. I got the .44 to drop a bear but I would not mind owning a .357 one.

Yeah, you've got to be kind of snappy with the action, or it doesn't work right. A lot of guns are like that.
