Fresh fruit OR muselix or a good cereal... I like sprouted seven grain bread with raw peanut butter and honey. Someone mentioned oats. That's good too.

The email I got about the dairy possibly closing is from our local Weston A. Price Foundation. Isn't that something you're interested in?
Steve forwarded it to me...don't know how he came about getting it.

Mmmm...oatmeal. I'm gonna make some steelcut oatmeal, I think. Takes awhile, but it's way more interesting than instant.
*sigh* The paltry benefits of unemployment...

There's almost nothing else in the house, though!
Need to go shopping.
At least it's still coolish here - 55 or so. And dry, of course!

Another homeschool family we know is moving to Tokyo for two years with the Dad's work. I can't remember which Prefecture they'll be in, but she said they're about 30 mins. from the Shinjoku train station.
We're excited about it, though Clare and I are going to have to get our behinds in shape for all the walking we're going to be doing. Also, I hear it's pretty warm there in late July, so we'll have to be ready for that as well. Our friends were able to find a 4 BR, 2000 sf house to rent. They were thrilled because it's larger than what they have now, and they'll have an extra room for guests, like us!

You're going to have so much fun...
I'm getting in shape too. I really am. This week I will get the diet and the exercise together - previously I've managed to make one or the other work.

I almost missed you! I'm on the the way out the door! Matthew has a birthday party to go to...not one of those kinds where you drop the kid off and come back a while later and get them...one of the kinds where all the moms sit around visiting while the kids eat cake and play. Except Matthew and Joshua are the only kids invited and I'm the only mom gonna be there! Which I normally wouldn't mind, but I'm still kinda rung out from the trip and don't feel up to socializing.
I hope she has coffee...
See ya later!

Lots of walking :D
Make sure you have comfy shoes. When I was there I brought something like this:

Had a bottle of water or Pocari Sweat hanging from my belt almost all the time. A light back pack or large hip pack was also very handy for all the sight seeing and shopping. We stayed IN shinjuku. Another good idea is the J-rail pass. For like 120 you get unlimited travel on any Japan rail lines (except the bullet trail). That saved us a ton of time and confusion. We just flashed the pass and went anywhere we wanted. It it good for a week or so and is tailor made for foreign tourists. Have you been brushing up on some Japanese? I highly recommend the Pimselur audio stuff. A little pricey but much better than anything else I have tried.
and I happen to have spare copies or mine...
