The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I wanna know! Hmm....speaking of liver...I know you're too easily distracted to hound me about it ;~D
How's the bug coming?
To: HairOfTheDog
It's fine...
Whatever came of that illegal underwear catalog purchase thingy?
(I never forget anything, distracted or no.)

Nothing... I never followed up with them :~D
To: HairOfTheDog
You got someone banned from the horse forum, I know that much and can likely go back and look at the thread and figure it out.
But I wanna know what forum YOU got banned from! Unless it really is something you don't want me to know about because it might offend me or hurt my feelings, in which case, you're a peach!
Ugh...did I say peach?

Oh heck no, it wouldn't hurt your feelings... it was an antifreeper forum I joined once because they were talking about me. - Positively, I might add... They like to mock freepers, they apparently don't like it when they are
mocked themselves :~D
To: 2Jedismom
Well, my account got credited, and it hasn't happened again, so I forgot about it.
I guess it was last year about this time, I went to call and investigate who had ordered products with my card and they were trying to get ready for one of the hurricanes. I said I'd call after it was over and never did.
To: HairOfTheDog
Ahh...I'll check it out later. It's raining and the meat chickens have never been out in the rain and they're freaking.
You handled the jerk on the Horse thread admirably.

...part-time Johns Hopkins instructor...She spent the entire time belittling me for being silly...At which time I would say "I came not to receive, but to give instruction."
Then the whaling would commence.
Oh, woman doc. Never mind...

Now I'm feeling blue. Join the club.
Today I applied for yet another round of administrative assistant type jobs, temp and otherwise.
Tomorrow I'm thinking I may try to find places to walk into to ask about openings, but I know so little of the area and large chain businesses in general that I hardly know where to start. Maybe the hospital, but they've turned down every application I've thrown their way so far, and there have been many. I have no reason to hope going in personal will change anything.
There's the college, but what I said about the hospital goes double for them.
I know I can very likely get a minimum wage job, or something slightly over that...maybe seven bucks an hour. But I didn't work for as many years as I have to get a minimum wage job. There's always waitressing, but as clumsy and scatterbrained as I am, I'd be terrible.

The paper arrived today. Thanks.
"Niece" is off to camp for the week; c/r and I are headed over to add a modem to the family computer, and I'm giving "nephew" my SimCity 3000.
See y'all.
