The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Okay, I'm going back to catch up on posts, but this is vey weird.

I was in the religion forum and was going to post from the 3rd gospel, you know the one that has the same as the name of my youngest son?

But I cannot type the name. Everytime I try it in any configuration in a post, I get a "page cannot be displayed" message.

I just tried it here with just that name in it.

And I swear, the strongest thing I've had tonight is low carb ice cream.

Exactly. If I type it just like you did, I get a "page cannot be displayed" message.

It's not a problem with any other family name.

I have no explanation for that. I'm explanationless.

I can type "Lucas" but not the shorter version.

Is this happening when you click the post button? When you finish typing? When, exactly, does it happen?

It sounds like something is trying to hijack your browser... a good scrubbing with several spyware/adware/virus killers may be in order.

It happens both when I hit preview OR if I check the "I have already previewed" button and try to post.

I've discovered the joy of BBQ Beef in the Slow Cooker. I have a recipe for BBQ sauce made with ketchup, brown sugar, worcestershire sauce and a bottle of beer! I also throw a couple of tablespoons of Montreal Steak Seasoning in it. Mmmm. Good! I put a chuck roast in the slow cooker last night about midnight, and the guys forgot to turn it off when they met us for the movie tonight, so when we got home about 8:30 tonight, the meat was nice and soft, and the sauce was thick. Deelish!

We saw War of the Worlds, and I must say I REALLY enjoyed it!

Off the top of my head, I'd say you have spyware keying off the word "Luke" for whatever reason, and trying to send you somewhere you don't want to go.

Or something. Try going here and clicking the "Scan your PC button".

My sister sent me a birthday card once that read: "Do you know why people who eat health food are so skinny? Because health food tastes like sh*t! ;o)

I'm a fan of some health foods, but if it doesn't taste good to me, I ain't botherin with it. I'll find something else that's good for me that IS tasty.
