Sounds like healthy food to me...
I definitely agree that refined food's not good, we should cut back on it, but I also wonder if some of those things, like heart disease and arthritis, just don't show up in certain populations because everyone dies before they get old enough to get them. It's like saying "Nigerians don't get Alzheimers" - yeah, well, they're all dead by forty.
That sounds like a plan...the woman that got my milk for me does the same thing...
Freezers are great, I tell ya! I'm so thrilled I got mine working again. Now I just can't wait to fill it up. Someday!
I supposedly get the lamb sometime this fall.
Then you'll have to get a backup generator for the freezer....just in case a hurricane hits. :)
That and the lifestyle difference. I dare someone to go down there and ask if they would rather eat what we eat. Yeah, I need to eat more health but who wants a life of nothing but tofu?
Ew, not me. Gimme beef and pork and the occasionaly refined-white-wheat, processed sugar, corn syrup, lard filled snack. But only occasionally.
Sigh. I want pizza. I really want pizza.
Not true. Not in the least.
hyperbole to illustrate a point, I know. But no historical foodway had foods like tofu as a staple. Condiment at most.
I'm just trying to make a point by extrapolating an extreme. Like I said, I think there's truth in the idea. But I don't believe there's such a thing as a perfect diet. I mean, whatever you eat, you're gonna get 80 or 100 years and then keel over, so I'm gonna have a couple chocolate chip cookies along the way. Just not gonna make a meal out of them every day.
No no no!! I like good food, organic or not...and lean toward wanting to eat more natural. I always have, that's not new. I just like talking to Lil' about it...
Milk bottles, sis!! It's Milk Bottles!
You know I've mentioned in the past that I wished I could have milk delivered to my door like in the olden days (we actually had it delivered when I was a kid). Well, that's out of the question, they just don't do it anymore...but I noticed at the antique store all these old milk bottles! They've got stuff written on them or sometimes embossed into the glass or sometimes they're just plain. I just fell in love with 'em!
I'm mad for them, I tell ya!
And the thing is, they're cheap! A couple a bucks or so for a plain quart milk bottle! Higher for the ones with print or embossed, but not too much!
I'd like to focus on collecting Oklahoma milk bottles, but really, any would do!
And you know, if I could find a place to purchase bulk milk, or a goat dairy that would use my own bottles, wouldn't that be cool?? Those bottles would be put to use once again and wouldn't be just for display. I'm a functional person, not a trinket person.
Milk bottles. Ok. It's good to have a hobby. Who am I to criticize, I collect dragons.
Gotta go to work now. Seeya later. Bike time!
I do half whole wheat flour/regular flour pizza crust (100% whole wheat has a cardboard texture). I've been doing canadian bacon or dead fish lately but if I do sausage or pepperoni, I nuke it for about a minute or so just to get most of the grease out. With the mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, and veggie toppings, I don't consider it a junk food.
But then, I could be wrong. :)
It sounds GREAT!
What time should I get there?
Very few things are 'staples'. Patatos, Rice, Corn, Wheat, not much else.
Heh. I didn't set the machine to do pizza dough today. And it's supposed to get into the upper 90's so I'm not going to heat up the oven anyway.
You can't have cookies for breakfast?
Drat.
I like the nostalgia, I guess...some of these milk bottles have the most intriguing things written on them and I like to think about them on the doorstep of some family, sitting there in the cool of the morning.
See ya later.
Good morning everyone!
All this natural food stuff sounds like a bunch of tree-huggin' hippy crap ;~D
~sip~
Well, I was just joking anyway...the old car wouldn't make it.
But some day!!
ASG
Hmmmm....flour (wheat), eggs, milk, butter....
Yeah, I'm beginning to be sorry I brought it up.
