The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Of course eating! Well, I think the ocean would be a good trip, it's different than the Atlantic. There's surf all the time. It be a full day trip though, with the stopping and eating ;~D
Mt. St Helens is also a full day, more driving than walking to get up to Johnston Ridge... it's still a worthy sight up there. On the way back down, there are short trails to walk, through the hummocks.
So - how many days have you got? :~D
To: HairOfTheDog
Going to be out there all week. The schedule has the 11th, 13th, and 15th for the site visits. I assume we'll be working on the 12th and 14th. I could take a couple of extra days off although it would mean leaving Miss Cat longer. I'll ask about more details tomorrow.

~shakes head~
I don't feel very flexible right now... I spend the day at the beach house weed-wacking (jungle clearing) and it kicked my butt.
A bath would do me good, I think I'll go do that.

I'm gonna commute to work - a good three and a half miles at least - by bike now. When the weather permits. Rosie is to smack me if I don't.
Between that, and lifting, and not eating the carbs of doom, I'll get back into shape this summer if it kills me. I am so tired of not being able to do what I like.

Is it hot?
Sorry Bear.... it's very cool up here.... cool enough and rainy enough that a year ago, we'd have been in a bit of a panic about the forecast. :~D
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
Sorry, Bear!
It's a misery if it's anything like Florida.

Please note, that 91F temp is at 8:00 pm this evening... the weather advisory is for temps near 100F (and heat indices near 110F) for the next week. No rain in sight.
