Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Hullo!
THE HORROR!
It's only a couple of days though. Could be FAR worse.
Anything happening in here?
Was that a "Ramius" question or a "Ramius; All" question?
*grin*
I dunno. Just got here. Only gots a few more minutes.
These aren't the droids you're looking for. We can go about our business.
Oh, wait, you're not trying to stop us?
Sheesh, Rosie just left and the cats start crying.
Yah... I've gotten accustomed to having him in a different state all the time. :-) It's way better.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder, right? hehehehe....
Meow, meow, meow, meow....
Steve's brother's wife's parents live there. They let us have the entire top floor of there house to stay in.
They took us way up in the mountains where there was this market and a hole in the cliff where the ocean would SHOOT straight up through it and hit you slap dab in the face if you weren't careful. We bought a conch there and Steve was blowing that thing like crazy and everyone was laughing.
New Years Eve, there was quite the party...it was very romantic. Unfortunately I had burned my mouth so badly on a slice of pizza BEFORE we even left for our honeymoon that I was truly in agony the entire time. I even went in a street pharmacy and asked for some Xylocaine gel...to no avail. I didn't realize I could actually get pain killers! I just wanted some topical relief, but woulda took a pain killer if I'd known! I was really in agony.
Ack... that's too bad. The only thing I remember about Ensenada was Hussong's... and little of that. :-)
That, and the XO having to go down and 'negotiate' for the release of a couple of our crew to get them outta jail. Poor buggers came back to the ship with a whole new religion. To quote one of them: "that place was full of the biggest, fattest, ugliest, smelliest GAY mexicans you ever saw".
I don't think they drank again in Mexico. Ever. :-)
...not exactly... :-)
Well, niters... gotta go jump on another areoplane.
Good night and safe journey!
*Sigh* I need a good rabbit plinking gun.
Looking back, I don't recall us getting drunk in Ensenada either! Unusual, that. We got drunk pretty much every where we went! LOL
I do recall being drunk with Steve TWICE in Mexico, but that was on the Texas border. Once in Laredo...I had to go to the bathroom and Steve took me to a BAR! Mistake...big mistake. Miracle we made it out alive. Then once in a little town on the other side of the Guadalupe in Big Bend. We were camping in Big Bend and this Mexican guy took us across the Guadalupe on a boat, we road burros into town and drank beer till we got drunk in a bar, sitting outside under thatch, no kidding. That place was sun-baked, I tell ya. Just like old Westerns, you know? Like Lonesome Dove, if you've ever seen it.
Then we bought some kind of liquor...it was clear and had no label. Mesclune? Something like that. Road the burros back to the river, took the boat back and went back to the camp ground. The liquor made us both sick so we tossed it.
Sounds like a movie, doesn't it? There's actually a song called Gringo Honeymoon that almost describes it to a tee...you'd think I'd made it up except I have pictures to prove it and the song came out after we did this. Obviously the musician did just about the same thing we did.
I would figure that a few frozen margaritas would have taken the sting out of your burned mouth, chica! :-D
kewl... have any friends eaten by polar bears?...
Nope...no could do...remember the tequila contest from my earlier life? I can't stand the smell of it.
Frozen Rum Runner then? *grin*
Mmm.... frozen margaritas...
