The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

If you go swimming do you have to wait 30 minutes before you can eat?

If I can find parking, I'll be gone for an hour or so tonight, yep.

Cool. Go early and find a spot, but go!

I'll work on cleaning while you're gone.

Heh...likely if I DO find a spot, it'll be me and no one else, or just one other person. Seems to be my luck.

But that's not the point anyway. This isn't activity night. We DO have some other stuff coming up, though, if I'm able to stay in the loop: a hike and a movie night.

Maybe the one other person will be the cute guy.

I don't think we'll be partying too late tomorrow night, we do all have jobs. Probably they'll go home by 10:30 or 11. And they're pretty quiet folks.

jedis are home...fixin' Matthew a sausage patty to go with his fresh bread. Joshua already ate a peanut butter sandwich.

Hmmm... I'm listening to the Texas Tornados working on the FY06 budget and managing one of She-Who-Needs-Ritalin's panic attacks.

Well the TTs are fun. :) Last trip out to Tay-hass I got inspired - bought some Marty Robbins, too.

Out in the west Texas town of El Paso....

I kinda read it fast and didn't realize that a comma was missing. :)

I thought it was a bit strange that the Texas Tornadoes were working on a budget.

Tore my shoulder up at softball last night. I am mostly sitting around listening to talk radio. My front room has poor wireless reception due to I think lead paint. I need to get a repeater in here and shore it up.

Hey! I've been to that ballroom! Many Many times! It's in Brazoria, which is the area where I grew up! I grew up in Brazoria county. That's where the scary bridge is, you know? Over Chocolate Bayou!

Blow me down. Kinda floored me seeing that! Where did you find it?

I once was in the car with a poor girl who got pregnant out of wedlock, had the baby and then it died of SIDS...she was just out to die, I tell ya. She picked me up and we were going to the Ballroom dancing and she drove in excess of 100mph to get there. She didn't care. God bless her, I hope she's ok...I know she was just suicidal at the time and I didn't know what to do for her.

Gosh...lotsa memories! I lived in Angleton, a town close by, and that's when I got in the car accident and the judge told me he didn't deserve his taxes...'member that story?

I smoked like a freight train and that was probably my heaviest drinking time...spent many an evening standing in the parking lot visiting with friends, just smoking and drinking. I don't even know that person I was.
