The Hobbit Hole XXII - ...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
...Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Sneaky Dwarf.
And I don't believe for a second that you really want to know when the Strider lost his skivvies!

He's a major chatterbox...so likely he'll start right in before I get a chance.
Right now, though, the dial-up they have at the house is none too reliable, and Dad gets upset if people tie up the phone line for long periods, so I dunno when he'll have much access. Someday, I guess.
He and another brother are playing their first big gig as a duo in the near future - songs they've written together, though Stephen's really done the lion's share of the arranging and all. I'm really proud of them...I wish I could be there to watch!

Maybe right after passing the Argonath, he ditched 'em.
That seemed to be the moment he realized who he really was - i.e. a Gondorian.
But I'd rather not picture the scene.

I'm guessing he ditched the skivvies the same time he took Boromir's arm thingies.

Stephen...maybe. It'll depend on what kinda cash he has, and if I can talk him into it. I'd love for him to be there! Margaret and Bilbo, too.
Ben will be a new papa. :-) So I think Mountain Moot will be out.
I soooo hope I'm able to get home about when the baby comes!
