There's always the emergency supply of dried beef....
Popcorn is a vital component of all movie viewings.
I looove popcorn. And I can have it without too much guilt when I'm dieting.

Strange, I only hit post once.
Hey there.
mmmm...roast beef
mmmm...collards
I've got to figure out what to snack on before it's time for The Movie.
I went to visit my grandfather today. He's looking much better, although he's still very weak. There is hope that he'll be moved into a private room by the end of next week.
The doctors haven't done anything yet to actually treat the cancer, but the infection it caused (as well as the pneumonia he contracted) are all but gone. And despite the rapid spread of cancer in his body a week ago, it's under control now.
I cannot thank everyone enough for all of their prayers. I'm ever so grateful. We've ben given more time with my grandfather than we had hoped for....a most Precious gift!
Now, I'm off to get the kids settled in and get everything set up for the chat-view.
See you all in a bit.
Me, JenB, OT and Rosie are in Yahoo Chat.
We're doing the theatrical FOTR- starting in about 5 minutes.
Meet us there!!
We're having issues getting into chat! It's kicking me out when trying to load the chat room.
We got back late from the woods.... we had a mishap. ;~D
I certainly hope you'll fill us in!
Everything OK though, right?
z'at whatchercallinitnow?....
Hey Stinky, we're in the chat room
Bruce and I headed out this afternoon for a nice drive through the forest... wanted to scout out some other possible places where we might trailer to with the horses... since some of these roads are pretty rough... we wanted to scout it out first ~without~ the horse trailer.
We got on a road that went very high!
"Honey.... can you get out and check the right front tire, it doesn't feel right."
OK - do we have a spare tire?
Yes!
Getting the tire changed was a bit of a trial. First, our jack would not raise the truck high enough to even get the old wheel off... but we did the best we could by stacking the jack precariously on some rocks.
A super friendly bicyclist came and helped us with ideas... and to find some rocks, as well as just made us feel better that we were not completely alone in the world. I didn't take his picture at the time he was helping, because I didn't want him to think I was really weird. Even with the jack raised on the rocks, we still had to dig out the road bed to get the tire on the truck.
When we were finishing up getting the tire on, the bicycle guy left... and went on down the hill... His car was parked on the same road, we'd passed it on the way in.
When we got down to him, we were all smiles, and he said "Guess what? I have a flat tire too!" I had to laugh. So we got to help him switch his tire out too. This time I said... I have to get a picture of this!
Both our spares were a little soft, but they worked... and I know we felt better having this friend in the woods, someone in the rear-view mirror. We tag-teamed all the way to the nearest gas station, which was a fair distance, where we could get some air.
So thanks for the help Mr. Bicycle Man! Hope you made it home without further adventures!
Good grief!
What an adventure!
We were soooooo far out in the middle of nowhere! LOL
I forgot to say.... we didn't have the cell phone.
Oh no!
ecurbh will have to copy in part of the story I missed... he's typing it up on the blog...
Now I'm gonna try to figure out why I can't get in the chat room.
It's not a firewall issue is it?
You didn't see a light on at the Frankenstein place, did you?
Addendum:
We were standing around the car, trying to gather our wits about us, when I had a thought. Hmmm, wheres the cell phone? Oh, we forgot it! Dang!
Then we heard a motor coming down the road, and it was a motorcyclist. He stopped to see what the problem was. We asked if had a cell phone. "No." We asked if he was headed back to town. "No." We asked if he was headed back ~anywhere~ he could make a phone call for us. "No." OK, so after all that wonderful assistance, he just left and went on his way. Our opinion of the dirt-bike crowd dropped yet another few notches.
I don't know what it is.... It tries to load and then says error and boots me out to some yahoo general chat place. It's just not happening...
We're tired... I'd really like to just have a bath and bed ;~D
Sorry group..... we'll get on board for the RoTK night for sure!
